@Liz I can’t either but I was also the kid who hated when the teacher read a chapter a day out loud to the class during snack time. Everyone would get upset that she was stopping and I was always like “thank God that’s over- I don’t even have a clue what’s going on in this story!” ?
I can’t either BUT the one and only I’ve ever done and laughed the entire way trough was Born A Crime. Funny and educational. I promise you will love it.
The Gold Coast and the sequel The Gate House by Nelson DeMille, read by Christian Rummel and A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles, read by Nicholas Guy Smith
The Dark is Rising. My sons and I listened to it on a trip to the beach and after a long drive we literally sat in the car in our own driveway to hear the end.
@Lucinda we’ve done that. It’s a 3 hour drive to our cabin up north. We’ve sat in the car to finish a book many times before we start unloading. Once it was midnight…we sat in the car, in the dark, to finish The Adoration of Jenna Fox. Great memories!
There are some books I prefer as audio – funny books read by their (funny) authors. Born a Crime by Trevor Noah; Bossypants by Tina Fey; Yes, Please by Amy Poehler; ANYTHING by David Sedaris
Can’t choose just one ?. I loved the narration and story for Goodbye For Now and Ready Player One. I loved the special effects in The Last Jedi. Apt Pupil was one of a very few that gave me chills. Yes Please and Wishful Drinking made me seriously laugh out loud. Columbine was tragic, but so well done.
Hm, I’ll list several but it really depends on what you’re in the mood for: I love lyrical listens like Some Sing, Some Cry by Ntozake Shange and her sister Ifa Bayeza, narrated by Robin Miles; Diana Gabaldon’s epic series narrated by Davina Porter; anything of Neil Gaiman’s (he usually reads his own work); sometimes I’m just in the mood for Humphrey Bower’s lovely Australian accent reading something from Bryce Courtenay (with the mix of Chinese, Aboriginal, Mowrie, and European names it’s nice not to stumble over mental pronunciation every few minutes!); at other times I crave the straight forward dryness of Dick Hill – whether reading fantasy from Anne McCafrey or a Jack Reacher mystery from Lee Child.
One Good Mama Bone by @Bren. Narrated beautifully by the author. If you like Southern Fiction you will love this book. And if you’re not sure if you’d like southern fiction you will after reading this one. <3

Harry Potter books are great audiobooks.
The Pillars of the Earth was life changing for me. Such a masterpiece and so well done on audiobook.
Right now it’s Becoming by Michelle Obama. Before her I would have said Astrophysics for people in a hurry. NDG has the best voice.
@Mariana I would never have picked up Astrophysics but now I’m going to check it out. I also love his voice. Thanks for the tip ?
The Harry Potter series read by Jim Dale!
