@Sheila did you make a Goodreads acct? You should! ?

0
Sheila

What’s that??? ?? And how do I do it

0
Bonnie

Ok sorry ive been driving all day! Go to your play store and download Goodreads. Then you can keep track of books youve read and want to read. You can make you a readimg challenge for the year and have book friends to follow what others are reading. ?????

This year I drop it to 80, cause with two kids I can’t manage to 100 books a year

1
Reply
Emma

How do you manage so many books with 2 kids? I have 3 under the age of 8 and only managed 6 books last year out of 25. Tips would be great x

0
Jolanta

@Emma I usually read during my way to and from work. It is about 1-1,5 hour of reading and in the evening when they are already asleep and instead of watching tv I read

0
Emma

How old are your children can I ask? Mine are 7 and twin 5 year olds. Even when they are at school… I’m a stay at home mum/housewife I have so much to do. So I plan to do more evening reading. And want to take 30 mins a day to read also then extend it if I can. Thank you so much for tip x

0
Jolanta

@Emma my kids are little bit bigger 10 and 5. But bigger daughter has already a lot of hobbies so she always busy. And probably I am lucky cause my husband doing half of the chores in the house. So in the evening I have some time for myself and my hobby ?

I have just started using audio books and I listen to them every chance I get, cleaning house, getting ready for work and cooking supper other than that my nose is in my kindle.

That is a fun idea! Are you doing it in alphabetical order or checking off letters as you read them?

0
Lynn

@Flo I’ve started alphabetically and onto C just now:
A – Jeffrey Archer
B – John Boyne
C – Angela Carter

1
Flo

That should be easy for me to do, since my shelves are in order. I am using the basket (jar) this year. This may be something I will do for 2020. Thank you for the idea, Lynn Richardson.

@Flo you’re welcome! Happy reading

I am reading a book for one of my clubs. It is a painful procedure, and is taking me forever to get through it. I had a good run of completing my novels until I approached this one.

last year my goal was 75 and I read 83 so I’ve set my goal for this year as 85. I’m also doing the popsugar challenge to read a broader range of books that I don’t usually read and just finished still alice today and have now started beautiful creatures.

I’m working on an hour figure. 12 hours of dedicated reading per week. Basically at least an hour per day plus a couple of longer blocks. I’m worried that if I put a number of books as a goal, I’ll read for the sake of finishing rather than immersing myself in the story.

@Kelly-Ann So true! Today I was reading at Starbucks and this random guy comes to sit down at the table with me to be able to plug in his phone. Now I was reading Between Shades and almost done, he tried to start a conversation but I answered very briefly trying to get him to leave me alone. Finally another table opened up and I pointed it (nicely)out to him he said “okay I’ll leave you alone now”. 🙂 I was like FINALLY…lol My husband said he was trying to hit on me. I was more interested in my book than him!

1
Kelly-Ann

@Domenique love it. What is it with moment you pick up a book people want to talk. Not hubbys though they know better. Book blocker haha. Must admit my family have gone to shopping centre l stayed home to have a sneaky read
