I love to reread, but struggle because there are so many great new releases out. I read some books a few times a year though, Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter and Watership Down. I also try and read the Xanth books every other year, as well as the Cat Who series.

I try not to reread unless I have a great desire to because a) I already know the plot and b) the time it takes me to read that book I could be reading a new one. Interesting to hear your opinion though x

Love it. I always buy books that I loved, so I can go back to them. Tho my fav series – Wheel of Time and Lord of the Rings, I’m saving for 2020, so I can forget many details and it’s like new read ?

Depends on the book…if I liked it, I will reread it…if I loved it, I will reread it more than once! (VA), if I hated/didn’t like a book, I can reread it, but maybe like in a few months ? or 1-2 years

That’s all I’ve been doing for the last year ?? I was waiting for a book blurb to really catch my interest and then had a sudden urge to reread all my favourites so that’s what I did!

Yes to this question. I love revisiting my favourite books, characters and their world. I always pick up something new that I missed or didn’t pay much attention to.

I love it, I reread all the time, I’m currently rereading both the ToG series because I wasn’t ready to let it all go yet after finishing KoA, so I just started over, and I’m rereading The Name of the Wind 😀

If it’s a book you enjoyed first time or want to reread to remember more details then yes! Why not?! ?

For me it depends on the book. I dont reread that often. And if I do it usually cant be that close to each other 🙂

I only re read before the newest one comes out. If it’s a completed series I won’t reread. I will listen to a book I love again, if I’ve only ever read it. It’s different listening so it’s still new to me if that makes sense

I do reread, to me it’s like revisiting an old friend and often you come across new bits ( especially in the Discworld books) my favourites are kind of foxed, badgered and beared by now

I figure there are so many millions of books in the world that deserve my love and attention… I only plan to re-read those that are my absolute favourites and that’s only to share them with my children while they are too young to read themselves. I want to gobble up as much bookish goodness as I possibly can (whilst still having a life outside of reading as well – balance) before my time is up in many many years to come ?

I do it. But not all the time. I reread only some novels and the only series I reread was Shatter Me like 3 or 4 years ago, and I’m planning to do it again before reading restore me. I also plan on rereading TID because it’s so fucking beautiful

If it’s a story I love I wait a few years and try to forget what it’s about so when I reread it it will be like reading it for the first time. Except for Harry Potter. I reread those almost every year.

Yeah no thanks. I can’t. I don’t have the motivation to do so. Maybe a few, favorite scenes, but the whole book? It just seems pointless to me, especially since you already know what’s going to happen UNLESS you have forgotten it.

Depends on the book. I have a few that I call my “mindless go-to” that i reread constantly when i want something before bed i dont have to focus on. I also listen to a lot of audiobooks so once in a while I find my mind has wandered too much and I need the paper to get the detaila. Currently it’s Caraval.

I love rereading books! It’s like re-watching a movie but better! And you never know what’ll stick out the next time you read a book so you learn more about the characters and stuff.

depends on the book and how long it’s been since I last read it. I reread Eragon 17 1/2 times over the course of a few years, and couldn’t pick it back up (after seeing the dumpster fire of a movie) until a week ago.

I love rereading cause sometimes you find things in there before that you may have missed the first time around. Or you find the same jokes funnier. Or the same sad thing even sadder. I enjoy rereading, especially my favorite books.

I’m not really into it as much. Maybe if I haven’t read a book in a super long time (years) and I am starting to forget the story then yes I might go back and re read a book/series. Otherwise if it’s just for refreshers for the next coming book, I’ll look on wikia or something ?

?????? yes! Re reading a book is like going to visit a dear friend. One day alone is not enough with them. You need to commiserate and remember the good times in addition to making new friends.

1

@Michelle me too! When I’m in a slump I re read though. Gets me back in the mood to read again ?

I say the best books are the ones you can reread! My bf always asks me this, how can you reread a book?! Im tell him I spent $ on this book!! I better be able to reread it! What’s the point in buying a book if only to read it once??
