Thank you for mentioning this one! I read the first one a long time ago when it came out and never went back to read the rest of them. I will definitely have to get my hands on the rest soon. I was sucked in quickly with the first one.
The Peachville High Demons series by Sarra Cannon. It was a kindle freebie i come across and gave it a chance. I’ve enjoyed the series and the rest of her writing ever since.
I read Shadow of the Wind this year. I loved it. My favorite fiction read so far this year. I did not know it was part of a series, so you just made my day!
I feel like if you’re not into certain genres then you may not know of these… Charley Davidson by, Darynda Jones Curse of the Gods by Jaymin Eve & Jane Washington Immortal Guardians by Dianne Duvall
The Chronicles of St. Mary’s. Hysterically funny, tons of great info about historical events, time travel and romances. Great female protagonist, too. Also, The All Souls Trilogy. Much of the same elements as St. Mary’s, but in a completely different way, plus the supernatural is key to it.
We still have until February of 2019!! Why so long!!!??? When a friend first recommended the series to me, and I asked what it was about, she said “Assassin Nuns”. I was instantly sold!
•The Unicorns of Balinor, by Mary Stanton •Mirrors, by Danielle Barlette •Myrtle Clover Mysteries, by Elizabeth Spann Craig •Cozy Corgi Mysteries, by Mildred Abbott •The Bridgertons, by Julia Quinn
@Tika I have very fond memories of The Old Kingdom Trilogy. My sister (who doesn’t read as much as I do) read them first in middle school, and then we ended up buddy reading them together. It’s great when you don’t read a lot with someone you are close to, but you still have that one good trilogy that you could really connect over. I also love Shade’s Children by Mr. Nix. I’ve read that one three times. 🙂
@Mishayla have to read the prequel and sequel that he has since released? I didn’t enjoy them as much however it was so nice to get more time in The Old Kingdom! Sabriel is one of my very favourite books.
His Dark Materials trilogy is a great series. I love it! One of my all time favorites. In part it started my love for reading. I think it is loved by many.
@Christian I think because it was released around Harry Potter, it didn’t have quite to same impact as it would have had. I adore it and always recommend it ?
The World of Watches, by Sergei Lukyanenko. Amazing Urban Fantasy series. Shapeshifters, vampires, magic. Alternate dimensions. Good vs Evil. It has everything.
Julia Spencer-Fleming mysteries. The titles are lines from hymns, not because the books are religious but because the main character is a female Episcopalian priest who was a helicopter pilot in the Army-must be read in order-great mysteries.
The Hollows/Rachel Morgan Series by Kim Harrison (my first big urban fantasy love… still haven’t read the 13th and very last book even though it has been sitting on my nightstand for the last 4 years… I just don’t want the series to end); The Chronicles of St. Mary’s by Jodi Taylor
Not sure if these book series are well known or not but some I liked are: The Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews. The Sevenwater Trilogy by Juliet Marillier. Dark Angels and Riley Jenson both by Keri Arthur.
The Belgariad and Mallorean series by David Eddings. There are follow-up books called Belgarath and Polgara. I’ve read these many times and had my father’s ashes made into a blue orb similar to the powerful orb in the series. He introduced my sister and I to the series and was a favorite for all of us. 🙂
Forgotten Realms. I hang out with some series nerds, some even play D&D, and I’ve had to introduce each one to the book series. I don’t even play. When hubby and I were still just dating, he tries to introduce me to it when we discussed favorite books, and it’s part of how I knew he was a keeper.
