I would say paperback if it’s going in a carry on bag. Will make it lighter for you to carry. If it’s going in suitcase go hardcover so they will be more protected.

Paperbacks are easier to pack and weigh less. I’m going on vacay in a few days and am frantically finishing up the hardcover book I’m reading so I can bring a paperback (or 2) ?.

Paperback. It’s lighter and a bit more flexible.

Paperback weighs less and takes up less room. (Aldo less expensive, and easier to replace if lost in transit.)

Paperback. No need to hurt yourself and you will need room for more once you arrive at your destination and before you come home.
