Hey Helen, is it for you? Do you / they prefer the idea of the psychological mystery, make you think type of crime books, or the darker, more graphic ones?

Hmm. Switch, by William Bayer; any of the Dave Robicheaux novels by James Lee Burke, anything by his daughter Alifair Burke; The Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris; any number of James Patterson or Robert B. Parker novels. Also try the British crime writers such as Agatha Christe, P. D. James, or any of the Sherlock Holmes books. There are many more. Some of the books among my suggestions are very violent, some aren’t, but they’re mostly all good reads.
