Favorite SF thriller: Niven and Pournelle’s “The Mote in God’s Eye.”
That’s interesting, I think my dad had a copy of that, but I was never really drawn to it, may have to check it out!

@Gordon I read the sequel and regretted bothering. I have to say that Larry and Jerry aren’t good at sequels. The sequel to “Inferno” was a botch, too.
I didn’t even know there was a sequel to Inferno. I take it it’s not very good…

I love Richard K. Morgan’s Takeshi Kovacs Science Fiction trilogy (each is like a standalone though)????
And for Crime Thrillers I love the Jack Reacher books, the Harry Bosch series, and you can’t go wrong with anything Sherlock Holmes!❤️?❤️

Depending on how you define thriller: DUNE and WAR OF THE WORLDS
Of the newer variety The Martian by Andy Weir, The Breach trilogy by Patrick Lee, and Dark Matter by Blake Crouch. All were wonderful.
