What is your favorite online bookstore and why? (Amazon, Half Price, Book Depository, etc)
2nd and charles
It’s hard to pick a favorite. I have bought books from at least 4 sites. It depends on who has the book and then who is the cheapest.
ABEbooks
good selection from cheap to rare
ive only ever bought online from amazon. we have half price bookstores here in tx, one close to my job
Thriftbooks.
No real reason why except I found books I needed to homeschooling there and have continued. Lol
I work there 😉
Amazon, never looked anywhere else
Book Depository cause I live in Australia and it’s the only one that has free delivery to here!
Same. Excellent customer service too.
Abebooks
Amazon, because they are the only online bookstore where I can buy books in English and get them delivered where I live.
Does Amazon ship all over? And i just have to say you’re beautiful!
@Ashlyn, thank you! ? I use Amazon Germany and they ship to Romania where I momentarily live.
That’s so cool!
Book Depository and Wordery have free shipping world wide.
Thank you, Maria! I will definitely try Book Depository.
Amazon and BookPeople❤️
Amazon and Barnes & Noble
Booktopia.
Amazon…. always ❤
Amazon for newer books & free delivery with Prime; http://thriftbooks.com/ for older books — what a selection!!!!!
I’m in Nigeria. Buying books online is not trending here. I’m an author. I write Nigeria stories. how do I sale my books effectively in any of those online bookstores mentioned. I need help pls.
I try not to buy a book online but if I use Amazon or the Thalia (bookstore) online shop
Book Depository. It has free shipping, good prices and excellent customer service. I also like that they have both the U.K and U.S editions to choose from.
When I’m being cheap on the Amazon Marketplace, it tends to be these guys that I gravitate towards. Great for saving pennies and consistently good on the quality front (you know, books in good condition abs whatnot).
Book Depository for books in English.
http://thriftbooks.com/ ❤️
amazon- free two day shipping and a lower price guarantee on pre ordered books
ABE…I collect and read unusual books from all over and varying time frames…the best source!
Amazon because that is only online stores which is accessible in my country!
I am old fashioned I use our two local book shops
Amazon because I buy books online when I am in England.
Amazon. But willing to shop them all!
Abebooks
Amazon…. I used to work there. I knw hw to work the system…???
Amazon, because it has all I need or want.
Barnes and Noble, if I can’t find the book I want there, I use book depository. I get free shipping with both Web sites.
Booktopia!! So reliable and flat rate shipping!! Can’t be beat … however if there was still a physical bookshop in my town I would prefer that but apparently I live in a town full of ignorant illiterates and they have all shut down ?
Booktopia is expensive compared to book depository but it’s good to support Australian companies! I buy most of mine second hand anyways
http://bol.com/
Don’t buy books online, need to see them, smell them, feel them.
Chapters
Amazon – The only place I buy books online.
Thriftbooks!! Free shipping on orders of $10+ and all the books I’ve gotten from there average about $4+ 😀
Barnes and Noble I have a Nook. They have good prices and customer service is not bad.
Amazon mostly.. just because of e-books.. i rarely buy paperbacks online unless its a very specific book i want
Book Depository by far. The books are nearly half the price, paperback editions are released months before they are in the states, and they ship much faster than Amazon. When I order, I put what I want into the carts on Amazon, Barnes and Noble and Book Depository. Book Depository beats the total every time by a minimum of $15-$20. Plus it’s free shipping no matter if I buy 1 book or 20.
Bookdepository
Swedish site adlibris.se 🙂
AbeBooks. Great selection. Low prices. Sometimes, free shipping.
Amazon.
Amazon. And I often order used from the other sellers who sell through Amazon. Amazing the number of books I’ve gotten from various Goodwills around the country!
http://thriftbooks.com/ super cheap and fast
Torrent
http://thriftbooks.com/ is a great place to buy
I have recently discovered thriftbooks! Love it!
I use Amazon.ca. a lot, because of the many second hand bookshops under their label, but every so often , you can down load a novel out of print from some of our library sites. Our city transit has a program that it runs with our local library , called, “Books On The Bus .”Unfortunately I don’t usually remember to return the books I borrow, but I should.

DeAnna Lynn When I visited Canada back in the day, I needed to buy another suitcase to bring back the books. Customs: “don’t we have enough books in Boston for you?”
Haha!!! That’s hilarious @Jo-Ann!!!
Thriftbooks
I order from Paperback Booksmith, and Harvard Bookstore(not part of the University). Booksmith I pick up, Harvard mails them. Haven’t done other places, I am afraid I would not be able to pay bills.
Barnes & Noble
amazon lately, since ellora’s cave is gone
Amazon
Amazon and Book Outlet.
http://www.booksagain.co.za/ An SA second hand online store. Slowly making me broke!
BookOutlet. 🙂
Oh yeah, the “and why” part: Because I don’t make that much for my job and this allows me to get the books I want at an affordable price.
ABE books
Amazon for my ebooks cuz you can find allot of free and cheap prices. And thriftbooks cuz of the prices and rewards…I think I spent almost $30 on all the harry potter lol
