@Michael my then 17-year old daughter came to me with the book and (pointing to a paragraph) said, here, read this. So I read the paragraph and said, Wow. She said, no you have to read the rest of the chapter! She was so moved by the book, and recognized lovely writing when she saw it. I borrowed the book and read it, then bought the rest of his books! The Things They Carried is still my favorite. Enjoy!
@Michael Mississippi Blood is the last of his series that starts with Natchez Burning. It will make for a much more enjoyable read if you start with that one. I loved that series.
