I listen on my phone via Libby. Get the books from my public library.

I also get from my library. My library uses axis360. But I’ve also used Libby in the past as well.

I listen via overdrive app with books borrowed from the library- OR- the Kindle app via the KindleUnlimited membership. Some kindle books include an audio version.

@Rosie have you tapped on the headphones ? icon on the book in the Kindle app? It has to download the book and then download the audio content separately.

What you need is the ones that say ā€œread and listen for freeā€

@Tricia right okay…. I’ll have a look at all the ones I’ve downloaded

@Rosie and some will trick you. See how this one has the headphones? But it doesn’t say ā€œread and listen for freeā€ so you can only read it and there isn’t really an audio option. I’ve been trying to figure out how to report it because I’ve caught a lot of them.

@Rosie I also noticed that my husband bought a series that I could get free on my KU subscription and he didn’t get the audio option. Only I would via the membership.

@Tricia oh okay… that may be why I can’t listen to some of them? I’m not sure will have to look into it

I just recently started using Libby as someone had mentioned previously. You can o my get what the library has but that tends to be a lot! Not so good for newer books of course if your library doesn’t get them in. You can also borrow ā€˜physicalā€ versions of books too along with audiobooks. I typically use a mix of both. Plus auto returns!

The app itself is pretty easy to work aswell! As long as you own a library card and it’s on the list (my primary location that is with the school I go to is not on the list, but my library card can be used at numerous different sites in the district.

Smart audiobook player is amazing. You can put a sleep timer on that resets when you shake your phone šŸ™‚

It depends on where the book is available, but my preference is Overdrive which is connected to my library.
