Enid Blyton was one of my favourites growing up and she has written books for various age groups. Although I think children nowadays are more mature than I was at that age.

Dangerous book to be playing with. People die because of it.

0
Natasha

@Gary how so? I haven’t known Cthulhu to rise out of the ocean and eat innocent book readers.

0
Gary

That isn’t the real Necronomicon. The real one is book of spells and calling up spirits.

0
Natasha

@Gary so you’re an Evil Dead fan? There’s no real Necronomicon. Lovecraft made it up and any publications after have also been works of fiction.

0
Gary

@Natasha Not a fan of anything, and there is a real Necronomicon. I took it away from my son and burned it back about 25 years ago.

0
Natasha

@Gary that’s awesome! I’d love to get a copy do you know the publishing house?

0
Gary

@Natasha Wouldn’t tell you if I remembered. Not kidding, those who dabble in that kind of shit tend to die violently.

Maybe Nancy Drew or Trixie Belden ? Harry Potter is pretty much a given. Judy Blume books (she seems to be a fave with pre-teens and teens). I also loved books by Norma Klein, growing up. Shel Silverstein is a good author for that age range. Also, for authors: M.E. Kerr and Beverly Cleary. There’s also the Boxcar Children books (series) by Gertrude Chandler Warner, and the Chronicles of Narnia series by C.S. Lewis.

Then of course, you have classics like Anne of Green Gables, Little Women, books by Mark Twain and more.
