Some books are like friends, you keep them and revisit from time to time. Others have taught you all you need to know and you can pass them on.

Mostly pass them on to my local used book store that buys them. Also have Little libraries in different areas that take them. Take a book, leave a book.

After donating about 1000 books when I moved five years ago, I decided to borrow as many books on my kindle as possible. The upshot is that I read even more.

Pass them on, give them away, I never ever lend books out, or borrow them. I feel that there is something holistic about books, can’t really explain; many people ask to borrow my books – which I am happy to do so, but in my mind, they are gone for good – which is fine! I find that they make their way back if needed, somehow and I feel better about giving them away than lending them – this is not making much sense, but I know what I mean!!!!

I used to keep them but they tend to just sit there forever more, so now I read and pass on to friends or donate, either to the library or charity shop.

Keep – like my mini children… love them, even the ones I don’t really enjoy. I think about all the effort that the author put in to getting that book on the shelf, it encourages me to read and read and read
