I didn’t buy these, but it was a donated set of the Anne of Green Gables series and I work at the library they were donated at, they were waiting for me this morning in the breakroom, it’s an older set but at least they are complete and I can give away my ragged mismatched copies. Yah!! The lady who sorts through the donations will give me a book that is considered ‘damaged’ to me since she tries to sell the best looking ones off, last week I got The Fault in our Stars and it only had the dust jacket missing. This Anne set was not damaged at all but she knew I was a big fan and that I didn’t have a complete set so I got this. Cool!!

The latest books I bought were the second and third books in C.S. Pacat’s Captive Prince series, and my cousins bought me the Barnes & Noble exclusive edition of Amanda Lovelace’s The Princess Saves Herself In This One. The ones before that were The Quick and the Thread, Blood Rights, First Grave on the Right, Perfume: The Story of a Murderer, Practical Magic, Murder on the Orient Express, Fade, Poison, and Ready Player One…I definitely don’t have a problem…

I was given The Fellowship Of The Ring after reading The Hobbit recently, and was then lucky enough to find Two Towers and Return Of The King at GoodWill, so I picked those up. Also found a hardcover copy of Misery for like $2 the other day, which was pretty awesome.

I keep telling myself not to buy anymore until I read at least some of the ones I already have that I haven’t touched yet… I’m not having much success with that. Is books anonymous a thing? Cuz I think I need it lol.

Jessica

This is a sequel to the Mummy by Anne Rice. It’s brand new.

0
Cheryl

@Jessica, yes, it is a sequel to “The Mummy”, but no, it’s not new, I read it years ago! Maybe it’s a re-release?

0
Jessica

No its not a re release. She just wrote it with her son Christopher.

@Jessica, sorry again…. sorry it took me so long to realize that this is exactly what you were saying! ?

You’re fine. Haven’t started it yet. Kinda worried since it’s Co authored. I’m such a huge fan of her work and this book in particular. So I’m worried about reading it and hating it. Lol but I will eventually.

Huh….that has a sub-title, though: “The Passion of Cleopatra”, I don’t remember that from the book I read. And the one I read was by her alone, not with her son. Maybe it’s the development of an event or character from the original story? Is there any mention of an original “Ramses the Damned” from which this might have sprung? Maybe o

Aha! Turns out “Ramses the Damned” was not a sequel to “The Mummy”, it was the sub-title of “The Mummy” which came out in ’89, and the new one you got is, apparently, the sequel to it! This is one of my favorite websites: https://www.fantasticfiction.com/r/anne-rice/
