Only read the first one so far but I really liked it! Was surprised since it wasn’t something I would typically go for.

Yessssss! Read them! Just finished the 2nd one. Although I initially planned to read a book in between, I think I’m gonna continue on to the 3rd one. You’ll get hooked after the first 50ish pages of Dragon Tattoo. I promise!

Never to go to Sweden without a tazer, some pepper spray and one of those anti rape teeth condoms…. oh and to bring my coffee and a sandwich appetite
Seriously though, its a good story ?

Loved them. Found the first one slow to get into. But once you get past the first 150pages of background info you won’t be able to put it down. ?

loved them. First one I took 3 attempts to start it but as Jackie says it’s getting over the first 150 pages or so.

Brilliant. Tore through them and then watched the movies, which are also great. The Swedish ones, not the American one.

Hated !

Why is that?

Mandy

@Micki I found the first one just about ok, and I hung in there waiting for this amazing story to be revealed but the following 2 books were painful to read, flat, dull, and I dreaded picking them up, but was determined to finish them, whilst still waiting for this fantastic story to transpire. I was annoyed I wasted my time reading them ?

I loved them!! First one took about half-way, then you’re hooked 🙂

I guess I’m in the minority ? I hated the first. Could barely get through it.

What about it was difficult?

Margaret

@Micki I found the writing pretty bad. Character development was slow and the plot arc is not typical. I just felt it was a slow burn and poorly constructed.

Once I got used to the names and references it was so much easier. In the beginning I wasn’t sure what the sex of the characters were. I had same issue with Kite Runner but it is one of my favorites….Read on!

That’s good. I know he died after the third book was published and am concerned with others that are written by someone else. Never know how they are gonna do.

Couldn’t understand the hype. I only read the 1st one and was bored. Took too long to get going and then no surprises!

I really liked them, though they aren’t the type of thing I usually read. Very dark and disturbing-not for weak stomachs. I did think the first two were better than the last. I’m trying to remember whether the author passed away before finishing the 3rd.

I think he passed away after the third was finished so someone else has continued the story. I’ve been hesitant to start the series because I want to read the whole series and with some books being written by a different author I don’t know how that affects the story.
