They had a whole segment on her on CBS Sunday Morning just this past Sunday. It’s been on the NY Times Best Seller list for ages. Waiting to read it from the library. That could take time!
Maybe because I already live on the NC coast? The nature descriptions were nicely written but the rest of the writing was just average to me. I didn’t feel like the story itself was very well written.
I loved this book. It is the kind of book I want to read when I want to read a GOOD book. I resisted at first because it seemed like a swamp creature/girl book. It was so much more. Kya was such a strong, intelligent female. So many different facets to this book. I am myself a biologist, and grew up in the south, on the Gulf Coast, so I was particularly drawn to these aspects of the story. And it had a story. Wow!

Slow start but good. Ending wrapped up forty years of the main relationship in just 25 pages. Now that should have been lengthened
