Best book I have read in years!
Such a fantastic book!
I loved it!
Just couldn’t get into it
I thought I was the only one! Could have moved faster, could have shortened the first 1/2 by a LOT.
Slow start but good. Ending wrapped up forty years of the main relationship in just 25 pages. Now that should have been lengthened
@Beverly it was sooooo slow that I gave up So many people loved it so maybe worth revisiting How long before to gets anywhere?
@Keely like the last few chapters…lol
Loved this book ❤️
It was okay. Kinda bland.
Loved it (audio)
@Jo me too! One of the best audiobooks I’ve ever listened too! ?
Loved loved it
One of my favorite books ❤️
Meh! It seemed like a book that didn’t really know what it wanted to be. Drawn out, and just confused. I did finish it, but not really my cup of tea.
I just didn’t care for the story line. I just didn’t get it. It was a nice book if all you want is to meet a different girl
One of my favorite ?
Just downloaded it from library
Thought it OK, but not riveting and a little farfetched. Loved the character of Kya though!!
It was OK… To predictable for me….
Hard to put down!
If you love beautiful, poetic writing with a good story, you will love it.
Beautiful book, couldn’t put it down!
Definitely one of the best books I have read in a while.
I just finished it. Tears still on my face.
It a very good book
Good but way over-hyped!!!
Did not finish
Ordered it yesterday it will arrive tomorrow
the sample didnt grab me but everyone on here raves about it. its also expensive on ebooks
Favorite book of the year hands down
Think you should get it Vana ?
@Adrienne totally agree!
@Adrienne yes Vivienne said the same!
Loved it. I chose it for my book club next month.
Very well written and I too loved it.
Not a fan…it was just ok
Another loved it here
Favorite book of 2018
It was ok but I don’t get what all the hype is about. I hated the ending too.
@Kate that was my favorite part. Funny how different we all are.
@Kate I have to agree with you. Haven’t finished it. But honestly don’t know what the hype is all about. I am not loving it
They had a whole segment on her on CBS Sunday Morning just this past Sunday. It’s been on the NY Times Best Seller list for ages. Waiting to read it from the library. That could take time!
Maybe because I already live on the NC coast? The nature descriptions were nicely written but the rest of the writing was just average to me. I didn’t feel like the story itself was very well written.
@Kate yeah me too. But far fetched for me..
Really good story!!
One of my favorites
not loving it at all
I enjoy reading stories about places I’ve never experienced and unfamiliar lifestyles. This book had a mystery included. I enjoyed it.
Great book! Go for it
And that ending. Wow.
Such a beautiful book!
Fast read. Definitely recommend.
Beautifully written wonderful book
It was wonderful! Beautifully written!
Reading it now..
Great read. The best of the year.
Love it, one of my best books ever
Already read it,but still bought a hardcover.
I found it quite average
It’s very descriptive and every blade of grass as described but I really enjoyed it.. when it’s finished I did think wow that was good
I loved loved loved it!!
I’m a quarter way through and loving it!
Absolutely loved it❤️
Still stays with me. I loved it ??
I’m reading it now and really like it so far.
Well-written excellent book. I loved it.
Disappointing. It was a bit far fetched in some if the story concepts..
Excellent. I just read it. It’s the author’s first novel, but she’s written non fiction. Her writing is engaging and it’s a great story.
@Jef and she’s 70! Love thinking about people accomplishing new things later in life
@Anna I didn’t realise. That is awesome.
One that stays with you after the read!
Fantastic read, beautifully written, I loved it!!
I just ordered it, can’t wait.
@Cara mom, let me borrow it when you’re done! I’ve been wanting it!
@Dustie , I’m in the middle of a book, do you can read it first.
On my list
One of my favorite books ever.
Finished it days ago and I am still in the marsh. It is a book that stays with you. LOVED it. Can’t wait for another book by this author.
I started reading one of her non fiction books about animal poaching in Zambia: “The Eye of the Elephant”. The opening paragraph hooked me:
Let us know how it is @Jef
Loved. It. ❤️❤️❤️
One of my favorite Spots!
I liked it ,a glimpse into the life of others and human prejudice. It is also the story of an intelligent woman.9
I loved it. It is the best read for me this year.
@Victoria I hadn’t been able to find a great read until I read this!
@Jef It is a rare find these days.
It’s very slow
Thank you all so much. Never had such a reaction to a post!! And yes I BOUGHT IT!!
@Vana have you finished it yet? ??
@Vana Can’t wait to read it !
You will love it, I’ve just finished it and can’t stop thinking about the characters and the marsh ! enjoy
I absolutely loved this book
Best book I’ve read in years.
Loved this book
I thought it was good, not great
I loved this book. It is the kind of book I want to read when I want to read a GOOD book. I resisted at first because it seemed like a swamp creature/girl book. It was so much more. Kya was such a strong, intelligent female. So many different facets to this book. I am myself a biologist, and grew up in the south, on the Gulf Coast, so I was particularly drawn to these aspects of the story. And it had a story. Wow!
Just checked it out of library.
Took me a bit of time to get into it then I loved it.
Loved it and want to read it again.
Really good Couldn’t put it down
Brilliant. Loved it.
Love it also.
I started last night and I’m hooked!
@Jill so am I!
Oh my God on so many levels. This is one I rave about to everyone. It was a great great read.
