All the time…it’s what usually makes me pick it up. That and an original or unusual title ?

I always judge the book by the cover, the way It feels in my hands and how it smells etc. ?

Yes. I started reading The Book of M by Peng Shepherd just because the cover spoke to me. And it didn’t lie, it’s really good so far.

It is ‘its’ with no apostrophe because you’re referring to the book’s cover, ie a possessive description …

Never nice to correct grammar. You are making the assumption that English is their first language.

Certainly plays a large role, initially.

Less & less frequently especially as more likely to read e-books now. And if I’d judged a book by its cover, I would never have read my favourite books of all time. Was however intrigued/influenced by the blurb on the inside of the sleeve. The Dorothy Dunnett Lymond Chronicles

All the time! If the cover looks interesting, I’ll pick it up and read the blurb on the back.

Absolutely. If the cover is enticing or beautiful, I’m more likely to pick it up and read the blurb on the back/inside cover.

Routinely, both positively and negatively. I found one of my all-time favorite books because it had a compelling cover.

It is a shame that authors, not in Stephen King’s league, have little if any control over what is on the cover. I have read books in which the cover doesn’t look anything like what is in the book. That may have stopped me from buying a book I would have liked

I almost always do. I am not attracted to an ugly cover.

No. I’m fascinated by some covers but my first move is always turning the book and reading the blurb. If there isn’t any, I read the first few chapters. Or check for reviews online. If its not what I’m looking for, I drop it and move on. Always.

I did it today at the thrift store! Picked up a book because of the title and put it right back because of the cover. Did not even read what it was about. (Don’t throw stones)

I do-If I see a pink cover or any other pastel colored cover-I know to just leave it be. There’s a 99% chance it’s not a book I’d be interested in reading.
