This book is excellent!! I couldn’t put it down. What I liked is that it taught me a little more about slavery from within Africa. I had no idea that different tribes would fight each other and if they captured anyone from the other tribe they would sell them into slavery. Very interesting.
The other thing that piqued my interest was an article saying that Homegoing was one of the 3 books that Stanford University wants incoming freshmen to read this summer. So, I wanted to see what all the hype was about.
Hi! I haven’t been in the Peace Corps, but I’ve spent quite a bit of time in various countries in both East and West Africa. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is my favorite author and I have a long list of African books to read. Would you mind sharing your favorites? Thanks! 🙂
@Jen I also love Adichie’s books, have you seen her Ted talks? Powerful speaker! Out of Africa; VS Naipaul “A Bend in the River”. Poison wood Bible. What are some of yours?
Do you mean Homegoing?
Yes, oops!
@Cindy you enjoyed this one didn’t you? I have yet to read it. Just received it last week.

Thanks for the review! I think “I couldn’t put it down” is the highest praise for a book 🙂
