It’s so good! The books are really big and there are 8 of them so it’s practically impossible to get bored! They are historical, romantic and just lovely! And Gabladon is an excellent story teller I would highly recommend!
No offense but their really is not much sex in them compared to 90% of the romance books out today, plus personally what sex their is is done tastefully not trashy.
Dresden Files (Harry Dresden) is a big favorite male character, but I should have said Main Character lol. I got too caught up in another forum discussion.
I like fantasy, science fiction and romance, so naturally I assumed I would love Outlander.
@J.S. I can see that I am a huge fan of the series I’m actually listening to the audio version as we have this conversation. She can come off as self severing but she is also kind and giving she is flawed like us all. I just put Dresden Files on my to read list
I’m currently reading it and still can’t decide what to think. So far it’s interesting but slow, and my feelings about the characters have changed about 50 times so far (and still on the middle of book one). I expected something different for sure but I’m willing to give it a chance. If it doesn’t work for me, I’m going for the TV series.
Akseli Harjunpäähe has read The Road, and Of Mice and Men…discussions while reading both because they do have some sexual reference and violence in both but wasn’t confused or taken aback whatsoever. I have never read any Outlander books.
Amazing series!!!!
Love all of them . My favorite books !!!
Great read
Love
I loved it
Love it!
Would definitely recommend it
Addictive.
What is it about?
Time travel, historical romance (no heaving busoms) Scotland and the US. Love. Very well researched and written.
Oh, I need to get this!
Love it, read the series 5 times
Hooked on the series. She is a fantastic author. Also love the series.

Definitely!
Awesome!!!
Loved it
I am so infatuated with the Outlander books it may require a 12 Step Program(??♀️). Diana Gabaldon is a goddess.
Omg now I HAVE to read it!! I ordered the first one from http://paperbackswap.com/ so yay!!
It is a commitment. You either love it or not. I was determined and read all of them.
Good. Read
First book was great, second was okay, after that it got tedious.
First book is the best!
Absolutely love those books! Great choice.
Do it. So good. You can read a book, then go watch a season on Starz and get obsessed all over again.
Very good once you get over how many pages it is. ?. lol.
I couldn’t get into it at all. It should have been right up my alley, but multiple attempts and I just couldn’t do it.
I just bought them. I’m not for sure if I want to start the journey just yet
Meh…nice idea, too much sex gets in the way of plotline
No offense but their really is not much sex in them compared to 90% of the romance books out today, plus personally what sex their is is done tastefully not trashy.
Yes
In love with it
Loved it
Totally love them. Almost done with book 2. Dragonfly In Amber.
Definitely worth Reading!!!!
Just started book 8. Love this series!!!
I absolutely adore it! I’m all the way up to book 6
It’s in my winter reading list that keeps getting longer
It’s not a fast easy breezy read. Lots of descriptive history. But it’s AMAZING!!! And yes. I want to marry Jamie. And you will too!!
Yes yes yes yes yes! I’m on the second and it’s so good!
The book was great
Love them!!
My favorite
Love it! I’m on the 6th book – A Breath of Snow & Ashes.
Omggggg ‼️❤️
good read
Mom rec’s the books, the show is pretty good.
Tv show better than the books…
Impossible
I bought the first book when it first came out, i could not get through. The series is very good, the books were too long.
Favorite series ever!
Love this series! I’m on the fourth book, Drums of Autumn, and it’s my favorite of all so far- you never know what’s gonna happen next!
Liked the first book
great read
Wasn’t my cup of tea. Too much sexual activity – for me it took away from what the story could be. (To start). I also can’t stand the MC.
Do you mind telling what your favorite books are? What book has your favorite Male Character?
Dresden Files (Harry Dresden) is a big favorite male character, but I should have said Main Character lol. I got too caught up in another forum discussion.
I like fantasy, science fiction and romance, so naturally I assumed I would love Outlander.
@J.S. so you didn’t like the Female Claire? Lol that’s understandable
@Cleopatra I found her character flakey and very self serving.
@J.S. I can see that I am a huge fan of the series I’m actually listening to the audio version as we have this conversation. She can come off as self severing but she is also kind and giving she is flawed like us all. I just put Dresden Files on my to read list
@Cleopatra I see that, too. But overall I felt bad for J.
@J.S. she did give him plenty of headaches how many of the books did you read?
@Cleopatra I read book one, but just barely. Attempted book 2, didn’t get very far.
Lol that explains why you feel the way you do about Claire you are absolutely correct with your assessment with what you’ve read she she gets better
have read all and loved every one.cant wait for her next one that wiil be out 2019
loved them!
What order do I read them in
Terrific series! Star with Outlander.
Do it!
Audio book is good. Book is slow for me
I love the series
I’m currently reading it and still can’t decide what to think. Obsessed
Liked the first four books in the series but this is one of the rare times when the tv series is better.
Fantastic
One of my favorites!! I’ve read just about everything Diana Gabaldon has written. I love her style.
I’ve read all 8 books several times: it’s a wild ride!
Im on the 8th book, this series just gets better and better…..
Is it appropriate for a 7th grade boy?
I wouldn’t say so no. There’s some sexual content in it. Not detailed. But you can tell
@Akseli gotcha! Thanks! Really appreciate that info!
Akseli Harjunpäähe has read The Road, and Of Mice and Men…discussions while reading both because they do have some sexual reference and violence in both but wasn’t confused or taken aback whatsoever. I have never read any Outlander books.
I loved it
I love the series and have re-read it more than once.
