I read this recently and I was definitely intrigued by the subject. But I was pretty disappointed by the ending/ resolution. I thought that Picoult ended it too conveniently.
Thought it was rushed and a total cop out.
Agree completely
Agree
One of my favorite books and the first one I ever read of hers. The ending was a total shock to me and I almost always see the ending coming.
I loved it ! There’s a movie also
It’s a great read
I loved it
I read it and it was well written as all her books are but it fundamentally was intended to raise questions. I don’t want to give away the story but it is a good read if you like to wrestle with hard decisions in this case about parental responsibility to their children and the reverse.
It’s great
I have the book on my TBR but I’ve heard great things about the book. There’s a movie, and that was fantastic. I can’t wait to read the book.
Fyi the movie is completely different and awful as in the ending of the book is completely different. I heard picoult was really pissed and had to leave the set or something but I don’t want to spoil how it changes
@Aneesah I cant wait to read the book. I meant to read it this summer but I found too many other books to read. Still working on that list. Lol.
Aneesah Chaudhari the movie was so horrible, I could barely wait for it to end. It goes without saying that it’s unfaithful to the actual ending, also I felt no sympathy for any of the characters. Cameron Diaz was unconvincing as the mother Sara.
@Shruti I hated the book not a fan of the author at all but the movie was just awful I didnt understand why they bought the rights to the book if they changed everything and had it as a typical story of a girl coping with cancer
The book is so much better than the movie which you probably gathered isn’t true to the story x
I love all of her books!
Brilliant book
Love love love this book
Really enjoyed it
Really enjoyed it
I loved it
Great book.
Amazing!
It was good and it did raise some important questions. The end was hurried and disappointing.
I looooooved the ending!!! Well, didn’t love, given the context, but I thought it was so perfect!!’
I liked it a lot!
Loved it.
Fantastic book
Loved it. Very powerful x
Great book .
A brilliant read
Amazing book!!! I would read it again, since it’s been about 6 years since I read it!!
I guess I’m alone hete as I am not a huge Picoult fan. However her books do make you think about things
Not alone. I think she’s a terrible writer. Hated this book.
Yeah I guess that’s it. The writing isn t good & it’s more about the message, the issue she wants you to think about & I find it contrived
The ending was just awful.
Loved this book
Loved it. Much better than the film
Loved it.
Brilliant book x
It’s a great read
Excellent book, far better than the film x
Excellent
It’s good
I hated it.
I watched the movie yesterday and was ugly crying ? lol but I haven’t read the book
You should read the book, much better than the film, too many changes were made by production team sadly
It’s far better than the film. Have your tissues handy!
Yep – loved it 🙂
Great book.
Loved it and it is better than the film. You might want to have some tissues to hand
Favorite book!
It’s a great read!
Get the Kleenex ready.
I’m in the minority about the movie. I thought it was touching, even with the changes. I read Jodi’s books and enjoy them, but they are intense and I often wait months before reading another. Her endings nearly always make me want to pull my hair out.
Loved it.
Her best book
I read it and then I saw the film. The film did nothing except disappoint me. Yes read the book it is very touching
A great book
Love this book!!!!
Definitely a great one!
Really enjoyed it
Great read!
I’m my opinion, you can’t go wrong with any Picoult
Loved book But pulls your heart out then stomps it be prepared
Hated movie
I liked it
It’s amazing!
Good book.

Fantastic book swerve the Hollywood version 🙂
Absolutely love the book… refuse to watch the movie
Loved it! And love Jodi Picoult.
Good book. Great writer
I really like her books and the subjects are challenging and I liked this one. I think she is an acquired taste
I ugly cried for 30 minutes when I finished that book.
I loved it, great twist to it.
Book was SO amazing. Definitely do not watch the movie because its horrible.
I loved it however I finished it on the plane to Florida and was crying so hysterically everyone was staring at me so definitely do not read it in a public place! Lol x
Loved it! I really like all her books.
@Tonya
Read it and watched the movie…depressed me…
Great read!!
I threw that book across the room when I finished it
Brilliant read.
Amazon book – will give you a different perspective of life x
Excellent book!
Excellent book. Very thought provoking.
Good book
It’s a wonderful book
Yes I read it , I read the book and watched the movie . I liked the book but i liked the movie more . Different endings
Yes excellent and thought provoking. Loved it.
Book filled me with homicidal rage
I love Jodi piccoult books and this one made me think.
My first ever Jodi book….. brilliant! I’ve read them all now!!
I’ve tried to read some of her stuff and I just can’t, I’m not into real life stuff. Give me magic and men with wings any day hha
If you haven’t already I strongly recommend “Vintner’s Luck”
Amazing book! Much better than the movie!
I enjoyed both.
The book was so much better than the movie although the ending was upsetting but overall a fantastic book.
Loved it, tissues needed. Movie was good too but ended differently. Can’t read her books in a row hey are too intense but live her books.
Loved it! Watched the film after & it was blimmin’ dreadful & it changes so much from the book in a dumb way – don’t watch it. Love all JP’s books. She has her own bookshelf in my home lol
I loved it!!
A very good book. Most of hers are very good. About real life issues. ?
Loved it !
Really brilliant much better than the film, very sad though xx
Read it on the plane and was literally blubbing. Was so embarrassing but what a journey I had in both senses. This book will stay with you. If you’ve seen the film it’s not the same so it’ll be a fresh story for you. Enjoy.
Not a Picoult fan. She is a predictable method writer with very uncreative themes. Just my opinion of ,course.
I loved it. They made it into a film but the film is slightly different, and of course the book is better. It’s a great story and the narrator is each of the characters telling it from their perspective.
I love all of Jodi Picoult’s books. This one is definitely a favorite, do not watch the movie! I absolutely love her Storyteller book also.
OMG Storyteller was really, really good! So was Small Great Things and House Rules.
okout of all of the books of her’s I have read, there hasn’t been one I didn’t like
Loved it! Way better than the movie ? ? of course
Read all of her books .. wish you would bring out another one soon ❣️❣️
