suggestions for books on the Salem witch trials, or any witch trials?
Does anyone have any suggestions for books on the Salem witch trials, or any witch trials? Fiction or non-fiction; I’m not picky.

A Break With Charity by Ann Rinaldi is quite good.
Thanks!
Salem Falls- Jodi Picoult.
It’s way after the actual trials, but heavily laced with them
Thanks!
Following!
An oldie, but goodie, The Crucible by Arthur Miller
One of my all time favorites!
@Kelsey , mine also!
These were all from a class I took in college on the Salem Witch Trials-I highly recommend them ?
Thank you!
@Kelsey you’re welcome ?
Before going there I read “A Break with Charity” by Ann Rinaldi and “The Heretic’s Daughter” by Kathleen Kent, which is based on the true story of Martha Carrier, one of the victims of the trials. It’s the second and last in a series but I read it before reading no. 1 (which is still on my TBR list!) and it wasn’t at all hard to follow.
Thank you!
@Kelsey You’re welcome 🙂
House of the Seven Gables.
Thanks!
The Witch’s Daughter
Thank you!

Thanks!
Also, another title: Check out The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane by Katherine Howe

Loved it
Exactly the book I was going to recommend!
There is a series by Robert McCammon that takes place during that time period. Really good, not necessarily about the trials. But really good series. The Matthew Corbett series, again Robert McCammon.
The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane by Katherine Howe.
“This book contains two stories. Connie, a history student, and Deliverance Dane, a woman presumed a witch in the 1600’s. The area of Salem is described as is was in Puritan days, and in the present. The hysteria of the witch hunts is an intriquing part of the story.”
It’s an approachable and enjoyable novel that includes wellbresearched historical aspects. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4836308-the-physick-book-of-deliverance-dane
Adding that I read this when it first came out, and liked it enough after 8 years to be able to find the name!
@Kathryne that’s definitely the sign of a good book.

The Crucible
The Witch of Cologne by Tobsha Learner is really good too
Witch Child by Celia Rees – My son and I both read this book. Several other friends have read this YA book and loved it. Hope you find what you are looking for.
If you like detective stories, The Truth of All Things is set in 19th century Massachusetts and Maine and features crimes strangely connected to the Salem witch trials.
I love that book and it’s sequel. I hope there are many more in the series
@Johanna, I may have read it because of your recommendation. I know I heard about it on this site.
That makes me happy if it was me
The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane, mentioned above, was the first book I thought of
