I’m not sure if it’s because I’m decorating and picking it up when I can . I may put it down till I’ve finished my painting. And then read without any unnecessary stops. ?

@Kathryn it could be worth watching the film if you haven’t already then you might find the book easier to read x

I have read this now 3 times. Something new every time I’d missed the last time. Btw the film was awful!

I haven’t seen the film . But I prefer to read the book before watching the films. X

Hannah

@Colette that’s the best way. But I have often found it a let down watching the film after reading the book because so much is missing from the film, I know they can’t put the whole book into a film

@Hannah agree I’ve seen a few that don’t live up to the book. X

It is worth sticking with, in my opinion. It can seem confusing with the different ages of the character, but it does fit together!

This book really moved me then I lent it to my sister and she was massively underwhelmed! Horses for courses I guess. Film was mega-disappointing in my opinion…

I struggled with this one too as I hate to be defeated by a book but there are so many other wonderful books out there, read something else and come back to it another time 🙂

Life’s to short to battle through a book you’re not enjoying. I say leave it and move on to the next one x

This is one of my favourite books ever however my approach to reading this year is to not slog on with something I’m not enjoying! You can always pick it up again another time and maybe it will ‘click’. There’s lots of other great stuff to read out there, it shouldn’t be a punishment! ?
