Show me a pic of your prettiest book! 🙂
A work by Rabelais in Portuguese? It’s indeed a nice pretty book 🙂
Its a portuguese cookbook. Like a cuisine enciclopedia.
Aha, one right out of two then 😉
I personally have a hard time deciding between my Barnes and Noble edition of Dorian Gray and the understated elegance of my volume of selected works by Karin Boye (Swedish author).
My leather bound classics
I love that Alice In Wonderland!!
Barnes and Noble leatherbounds are beautiful
I love them
That IS a very attractive cover. Just the kind of book one might pick up on a whim in a bookshop even though one’s never heard of it and has no free shelf space.
It was on display just as you walk into my local Waterstones and I loved the cover so much I just had to buy it I didn’t even read the blurb lol
I CAN’T DECIDE
Ohh I haven’t started this series yet, but I have the first book. Is it good?
Its a great series! The world building is fantastic with really complex characters. Its one of the most immersive series I have ever read ?
That was a good series
Im not home. But my husband remembered me saying once that i wanted to replace my copy of Les Miserables and he got me the most beautiful copy. Heres a google picture copy.
Those penguin editions are gorgeous.
It’s the Folio Society publication of The Vampyre and other macabre Tales. It’s a beautiful book, with some gorgeous illustrations.
@Jonathan I thought it was Folio Society. Love their stuff.
@Jake me too, but as they are pretty expensive I do not have many. I have just this one and old copies of The Tenant of Wildfell Hall and Jane Eyre.
@Jonathan I only have A Brief History of Time, with my eye on a few dozen more. Jane Eyre is a good shout.
@Jake Jane Eyre is my next read. These are my copies on my bookshelf.
What excellent taste you off *Flees to find that copy of Alice in Wonderland*
This my only Folio it’s Mass Observation :Britain in the second world War
Louise Ross has beautiful covers on all her books
Not pdf , but i think you can buy it online

Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier
that is so pretty, what is it about, looks interesting?
Here is the synopsis 🙂
Amy Lennox doesn’t know quite what to expect when she and her mother pick up and leave Germany for Scotland, heading to her mother’s childhood home of Lennox House on the island of Stormsay.
Amy’s grandmother, Lady Mairead, insists that Amy must read while she resides at Lennox House—but not in the usual way. It turns out that Amy is a book jumper, able to leap into a story and interact with the world inside. As thrilling as Amy’s new power is, it also brings danger: someone is stealing from the books she visits, and that person may be after her life. Teaming up with fellow book jumper Will, Amy vows to get to the bottom of the thefts—at whatever cost.
That sounds amazing ??
It does! The cover caught my eye but the story made me have to have it!

The illustrations inside are just as wonderful, too. ☺️

And this one of the whole series. I dont know why?. This cover stucked to me the most. Lol
Some of my favorites.
What are the two grey books in the middle?
The one with the lightning is the Folio Society edition of Frankenstein.
The other one is a 1928 Times Encyclopedia and Gazetteer.
I love Frankenstein, and that edition is beautiful.
Thank you. Folio Society has some beautiful editions.
Beautiful book. It’s illustrated with sketches made by the brothers Grimm.
