Curtiss Ann Matlock has a series called The Valentine series, set in the fictional town of Valentine Oklahoma.. While there is romance in the series, it isn’t the draw for me..it’s the town and its people. The first book is Lost Highways, and I highly recommend it.
I read the first three or four..which is what my library had. It’s been so long, I would need to read them again before reading the newer ones. Story of my life!
Nora Roberts and Debbie Macomber write very good romance books and not the cheesy kind.
Agreed
I will look into those thank you dear!
Debbie Macomber has several series that are very good. They aren’t overly romantic.
Agreed
Also Denis Grover Swank’s Rose Gardner series is a mix of romance, crime, and mystery.

This sounds good. I’m going to check it out.

Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon…romance, history, time travel. These books have it all
I like Nora Roberts trilogies. ?
Nora Roberts is awesome…also the Crossfire Series, I cant rememeber the author of that one, but I couldn’t put them down
Sylvia Day is who wrote the Crossfire series
Love Sylvia Day too!
I loved the Clan of the Cave Bear.
Thank you all!!!!
I may be an odd duck here, but I adored Irene Nemirovsky’s work. She writes romance, but there is something extra haunting about her little novellas.
Patricia Cornwell
Her Kay Scarpetta series is very good.
I loved Cornwell’s Kay Scarpetta series!
