Like most of Richelle Mead’s series, it starts off a little slow. By the middle of the first book, you’ll be hooked. When you finish, you’ll immediately want to jump into the follow up series Bloodlines.
I really enjoyed this series I do agree it does start off slow but picks up and keeps you engaged throughout the rest of the series. I liked the build up it gave you for the Bloodline series which is one of my favorites.
Love this series I remember when I first read it I thought it was going to be from Lissa’s POV and that she was the hero of the story and when it wasn’t I nearly didn’t continue reading but I’m so glad I did Rose is kickass and I love Richelle’s one liners I never found them cheesy. This book made me crack up with Rose’s internal monologues ??? I actually love the movie Rose also and the actress that plays her did her really well but the rest of the movie is a big letdown in my opinion ?

@Miranda I loved Adrian too. But number 1-she said no to him, he pursued her so much that he followed her to the academy. 2-he was older, old enough to know better
@Dawn I know. But the other was older as well and a complete grouch 90% of the time. I know most like a man who broods but I much prefer the joking and serious characters ? I haven’t read the spin off series yet. I cluttered with too many books to catch up on. But now this is making me want to reread vampire academy and then get the spin off.

One of the best books ive read so far.. the story line is amazing.plus Rose narrating the whole thing makes it so much better.. its funy frustrating and even sad at times..
I want here to revisit the series. Like write them as new adult set a couple years in the future and intertwine both VA and Bloodlines. I would die from bookish happiness!!

5 stars. Its the reason I love reading. The first book got me started, and without it, I’m afraid of where I would have ended up. It’s also the reason I started writing.
⭐️⭐️ it’s repetitive and about toxic relationships the main character is annoying and self-centred. It only has 2 stars because I did finish it and I only finished it because I bought it. I do not recommend this series.
Lissa who is supposed to be her friend is not really her friends she is more like her master “they come first” that is not a friendship that is brainwashing and Demitri is a Paedophile. He is 26, 27 and she is 17 that is inappropriate.
Love this series. It’s addictive. Love the story and the characters. Did not expect to like it as much as I did. Well written. It had been a while since I enjoyed a book series as much as this Vampire Academy. Seriously soooo good!

@Shayne I honestly only watched the movie for Dominic Sherwood but the guy that played Demitri was easy on the eyes. The movie was ok I thought it was better than city of bones…
Best female protagonist I’ve come across. Good story line but a bit predictable at times. Characters adapt and struggle to challenges and don’t always over come them 10/10

@Miranda Idk Adrian just came off as a spoiled rich kid that wouldn’t take no for an answer. He grows a lot in Bloodlines and becomes a great guy
