Like most of Richelle Mead’s series, it starts off a little slow. By the middle of the first book, you’ll be hooked. When you finish, you’ll immediately want to jump into the follow up series Bloodlines.

I really enjoyed this series I do agree it does start off slow but picks up and keeps you engaged throughout the rest of the series. I liked the build up it gave you for the Bloodline series which is one of my favorites.

Love this series I remember when I first read it I thought it was going to be from Lissa’s POV and that she was the hero of the story and when it wasn’t I nearly didn’t continue reading but I’m so glad I did Rose is kickass and I love Richelle’s one liners I never found them cheesy. This book made me crack up with Rose’s internal monologues ??? I actually love the movie Rose also and the actress that plays her did her really well but the rest of the movie is a big letdown in my opinion ?
I LOVE THIS SERIES! IT’S ONE OF THOSE RARE ONES THAT ARE WORTH A REREAD!

I was going through a book slump a few years ago, and I was getting sick and tired of not reading, so I borrowed Vampire academy from a friend, forcing myself to read and let me tell you, four days of no sleep, constant reading, and a mountain of snacks, I got through this series and it threw me into the best year of my reading life ???
Amazing. Vampire academy and sequel, Bloodlines are so good.

@Miranda I loved Adrian too. But number 1-she said no to him, he pursued her so much that he followed her to the academy. 2-he was older, old enough to know better
@Dawn I know. But the other was older as well and a complete grouch 90% of the time. I know most like a man who broods but I much prefer the joking and serious characters ? I haven’t read the spin off series yet. I cluttered with too many books to catch up on. But now this is making me want to reread vampire academy and then get the spin off.
@Miranda Idk Adrian just came off as a spoiled rich kid that wouldn’t take no for an answer. He grows a lot in Bloodlines and becomes a great guy

I saw the movie first and saw that it was a series after so I read the books and was like “Wow that cast pretty dead on!” And then I read everything and was amazed and Dimitri Belikov will always be bae (Rhys from ACOTAR is a close second)

Currently reading the last book. It’s definitely a favourite series and I can’t wait to read the spin off, hopefully it’s just as good!

⭐️⭐️ it’s repetitive and about toxic relationships the main character is annoying and self-centred. It only has 2 stars because I did finish it and I only finished it because I bought it. I do not recommend this series.

Lissa who is supposed to be her friend is not really her friends she is more like her master “they come first” that is not a friendship that is brainwashing and Demitri is a Paedophile. He is 26, 27 and she is 17 that is inappropriate.
Love this series. It’s addictive. Love the story and the characters. Did not expect to like it as much as I did. Well written. It had been a while since I enjoyed a book series as much as this Vampire Academy. Seriously soooo good!
Love it and the spin off Bloodlines series too I love Richelle Mead’s books in general but VA is what got me hooked I own all the books in both VA and Bloodlines

Books amazing movie not so much
@Shayne I honestly only watched the movie for Dominic Sherwood but the guy that played Demitri was easy on the eyes. The movie was ok I thought it was better than city of bones…
