This book was a life change for me! I realized I wouldn’t get the opportunity to replay my life and I became invested in working on my relationships and myself.
I liked Blackout but was so disappointed with All Clear. I truly enjoyed Doomsday Book though and happen to rereading To Say Nothing of the Dog right now.
Doomsday by Connie Willis, To Sleep with the Dog by Connie Willis, (I think that is the title); Connie Willis is great with Time Travel…and Timeline by Michael Chricton. I liked the movie, loved the book.
I had to ride a public bus for the first time, alone on 11/23/63. People, middle aged and older were crying openly. People in my town are usually very stoic so this was very memorable.
A group of students who are investigating ruin in France get brought in to a company that created a time machine that takes them back to the same period. Their professor had been sent into it and lost somewhere in the past. The students needed to go find him. I enjoyed it. I like Crighton’s (Jurassic Park) novels, with science gone wrong themes.
Connie Willis has several time traveling titles. Doomsday is “edge of your seat” suspenseful. All Clear and Blackout are set during the London Blitz. To Say Nothing of the Dog is hilarious.
I’ve read quite a number of very good time travel books. Not sure that any would classify as thrillers, though. Let me know if you want to broaden your net!
Not exactly time travel but fabulous by the great Ray Bradbury…The Martian Chronicles….about the colonization of Mars which Is looking more and more possible.
I guess the main genre would be fantasy but there was a bit of time travel involved. It’s one of those books that could fit into a number of different genres. It has something for everyone
No that’s not it…have read TTW too. This was about entering the time passage through a cellar and finding himself in the collapsed mine that occurred decades earlier
Stephen King’s 11/22/63…….best time travel have ever read…..not at all like his others
Great minds?
Ditto!

Timeline by Michael Crichton
Much better book than silly movie.
I could not believe the film was based on the book.
No comparison. One of the worst adaptations ever done.

Lightning by Dean Koonz
A Wrinkle In Time, Madeleine L’Engle. Young adult book, but profound and wonderful.
The Traveler by John Twelvehawks

Did not read that as time travel…..more fantasy
I guess the main genre would be fantasy but there was a bit of time travel involved. It’s one of those books that could fit into a number of different genres. It has something for everyone
