I read as an audiobook. Each character had their own voice. It was delightful in that manner. Like a play.

The movie was better. I think it’s the structure of the way the story is told.

That being said, there are books you’ll love I won’t. Reading is personal. Pursue what fills your soul.

Not everyone likes all the same things. I happened to love it, but sometimes I read (or try to) books that people here have raved about and I am left scratching my head. And sometimes people mention certain authors as their faves and I totally hate their writing style and books. I just feel that sometimes popular reads are expected to be loved by all and that should never be the case. To make a long story short: no worries!! Find something you like better and enjoy!! ☺

I would say you aren’t missing the best book of all times but, if you had enjoyed it at least a little bit, you could have found it a nice simple read.
I intend to watch the movie, curious to see how they transformed the book into a screenplay.

No, I really didn’t enjoy the way it was written in letter form and the story was a little weak for me. I was disappointed as the subject matter was something in really thought I’d fall in love with.

I struggled with the start because I didn’t know it was going to be written entirely as letters. It took me ages to get into it, but once I got there, I enjoyed the story. If you don’t like it, send it to a charity shop so someone else can give it a go without paying full price.
