Ok so I’m reading Gone Girl, and at first I wasn’t super into it. Now I’m about half way through and all I keep thinking is THIS CHICK IS A PSYCHO.

Glad I finally finished it. Hated EVERY character in that book. The ending made it worth the two year slog.

I was not a fan and her others are far more disturbing in my mind. It concerns me that people are even able to create these scenarios for a book.

@Marion after everyone was talking about Verity, I had to read it and at then end I thought I must be psycho because I wasn’t that disturbed ?… it is crazy what authors come up with!

Amy

While it wasn’t out of character based on everything we learned throughout the book, I was so mad at the decision one of the characters made at the end that I literally threw the book across the room.

I read this on a beach vacation a few years ago. I drove my husband crazy with my commentary of it. I actually did like the book and we both enjoyed the movie. The book is better, of course.

Amy was an interesting creation for sure. I did not care for Rosamund Pike’s version in the movie. Oddly enough, as I read Nick in the book, from the very first page I thought, “This loser is totally a Ben Affleck type.’

Mary

Along that line, check out Amy Adams in the Sharp Objects miniseries. She will blow your mind.
