I’ve never heard of that….

@Heather they’re very popular in the U.K. They concentrate on the messy stuff of history in an age appropriate way. Lots of fun. There’s a series of books covering Egyptians, Romans etc. My elders currently loves the Roman one.

Agreed. My 7 and 10 year old grandsons love the Who Was and What Was books. There are a ton of them. Example:

@April, there is also a series on Netflix. It’s cute, some toilet humor, but it stays pretty focused on teaching about these historical figures

OK, this suggestion is a real stretch for someone his age–but if you buy the books now, he can enjoy looking at the pictures now, and then fall into reading them sometime in the future… Jack Finney’s ‘Time and Again’ is such a fun read, and it’s full of actual pictures from New York in the 1800’s. And the second book in the series, ‘From Time to Time’ features the Titanic. Both are really fun reads.

He should love the magic treehouse kids books, they go back in time and solve mysteries. I loved them as a kid myself, my 9yr old can read them but doesn’t really like them, he’s not a history buff
