Honestly, her books Sharp Objects and Dark Places are GREAT if you loved Gone Girl. Dark novels with major twists. She’s my favorite author. Looking forward to her next release next November!
Probably should have asked for only those who enjoyed Gone Girl to respond. ? while it may not have been enjoyed by everyone, all of the “anything” comments are kind of unnecessary.
I really liked Gone Girl. I have also enjoyed The Widow by Fiona Barton, Not a Sound by Heather Gudenkauf, All the Missing Girls by Megan Miranda, As Night Falls by Jenny Milchman.
I think I didn’t like that book because the characters were so unlikeable. If just one of them had been more likeable I would have appreciated it more. The story was very clever
So glad you said it, I didn’t t like Gone Girl OR Girl on the Train.. Thought both of them were highly overrated. I loved All the Missing Girls though, and PD James’s Dalgliesh is still my best.
Agreed. Same goes for Paula Hawkins new one, Into the Water. I just finished No One Knows by JT Ellison, and it was the same, a lot of hype and build up to nothing, I didn’t enjoy it.
The movie was filmed in my town. “The Bar” was just an empty storefront. After the movie, a local doc bought it, and it has the same exterior, but it’s a great little place to eat while shopping downtown 🙂
1/2 way through Gone Girl ….. wouldn’t say it is the best read …. but certainly not the worse…..there are so many better books out there that are better written …. but for an easy read it gives a brake from more heavyweight material ….
@Cecilia I tend to do the audio so I can listen while I am driving and working. I never have time to physically sit and read. I just checked and Still Missing isn’t on audio yet. Is it newer?
Before I go to Sleep

The Last Mrs Parrish

@Abby , have you read
Best.Day.Ever?

Scariest ending of any book I’ve read, at least from a male point of view.

The Good Girl by Mary Kubica
Honestly, her books Sharp Objects and Dark Places are GREAT if you loved Gone Girl. Dark novels with major twists. She’s my favorite author. Looking forward to her next release next November!

I love Gillian Flynn’s books. Fun reads. Not Pulitzer Prize winners, but easy reads.
Tara Frenchs books. I’m not a mystery lover but hers are very good.
It’s actually Tana French. Love her books, great mysteries with well developed characters!
A blank journal
Tana French, Harlan Coben or Mary Kubica!
Every book ever written is better than Gone Girl.
All of them.
Just about anything. Thought Gone Girl was sort of obvious.
Every book ever.

Pretty much anything, except Artemis.
Lie To Me by JT Ellison
All of them. (I️ hated that book – sorry)
Shutter Island for unexpected twists.
Throw a dart.
The list of books that are worse than Gone Girl would be far shorter.
So glad you said it, I didn’t t like Gone Girl OR Girl on the Train..
Thought both of them were highly overrated. I loved All the Missing Girls though, and PD James’s Dalgliesh is still my best.
Love PD James. I didn’t finish Gone Girl or Girl on the Train. Couldn’t get into either of them.
Not a decent person to be found in Girl on the Train. Tough to get behind any of them.
Agreed. Same goes for Paula Hawkins new one, Into the Water. I just finished No One Knows by JT Ellison, and it was the same, a lot of hype and build up to nothing, I didn’t enjoy it.

The Great Gatsby
The movie was filmed in my town. “The Bar” was just an empty storefront. After the movie, a local doc bought it, and it has the same exterior, but it’s a great little place to eat while shopping downtown 🙂
Any book
What genre? You want a better thriller/mystery? It’s hard to beat Silence of the Lambs.
1/2 way through Gone Girl ….. wouldn’t say it is the best read …. but certainly not the worse…..there are so many better books out there that are better written …. but for an easy read it gives a brake from more heavyweight material ….
Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series girl on the train

Those Girls by Chevy Stevens was really good too!
I totally agree!! My book club read it and all loved it. I have read all but her newest and enjoyed each ?
@Cecilia I tend to do the audio so I can listen while I am driving and working. I never have time to physically sit and read. I just checked and Still Missing isn’t on audio yet. Is it newer?
No, it’s not new at all. Wonder why it wouldn’t be available in that content ?
Not sure. I can rent the ebook.
Any book ever
It’s a diabolical little book, isn’t it?!
How much time do you have? ?
Don’t tell me, I’m currently reading it!
