Love Greek mythology but haven’t picked it up in a while. Anything to recommend? Read Percy Jackson but looking for something more adult.

A Touch of Gold is retelling if the King Midas myth. It’s my book published by HarperCollins about the cursed daughter of King Midas who has deadly gold powers and faces pirates and betrayers on her quest to retrieve her father’s stolen gold.

I feel like maybe Neil Gaiman has one, but I’m blanking on the name.

Circe and Song of Achilles, as previously recommended.

Meg Cabot has a YA Persephone retelling called Abandon.

Happy reading!

@Annie American Gods! But not so much of a focus on Greek mythology

2
Casey

@Annie American Gods is great, but not a lot of Greek mythology like Shobs said! More Norse and African Gods/Goddesses.

@Emma-May It was!! All the Greek gods living together in a townhouse and getting their poor new housekeeper into all sorts of crap in her relationship. Anything else would be spoilers but it’s an easy, funny, engaging read. Like nothing else I’ve read. Highly recommended.

I recommended this before but The Penelopiad by Margaret Atwood is a retelling of Penelope and Odysseus. Excellent storytelling!

Lovely War by Julie Berry – it’s kind of a retelling of multiple love stories narrated by Aphrodite during WWI.

Has anyone mentioned Til We Have Faces yet by CS Lewis? It’s a retelling of the Cupid/Psyche myth.

@Bethany didn’t know this was a thing!!

@Gaby it was his last novel, and I think if you don’t know a CS Lewis scholar (like I did when I read it), you might not hear about it as it isn’t as widely known as his Chronicles of Narnia books.
