Looking for a new good read! I am particularly keen on stories based in the 1800s-1950s. Romance, mystery, adventure. Any suggestions??

You guys might like How to Hang a Witch and the sequel Haunting the Deep. They flip back and forth between current time and the past. The author based them on her own family history.

Have you ever read Wuthering Heights? I know its an oldie but seeing as though it was actually written in the 1800’s it might be something to think about. I loved it. If you are looking for a newer read based on the time frame then I suggest The Glittering Court by Richelle Mead. Its a 3 book series that takes place in that time frame about girls selected specially to go to a finishing school so they can travel to the “new country” which is pretty much early America to meet potential influential suitors. I loved the series

@Heather I read Wuthering Heights in High school but not since. Maybe I’ll read it again. I have no opposition to rereading books! Also, I Will have to look into that series because it sounds good!

@Heather I’m sure I will! It sounds really good! But I’m glad that someone else recommended it because I have bought books before that looked like they would be good but turned out to be very poorly written.

Also I know it’s a bit old, but ‘Water for Elephants’ was fantastic and one of my faves!
