@Beth I believe so! It’s the story of a young latinx women finding herself through poetry. I found her story powerful and moving! <3

Miss peregrines home for peculiar children. If you like thrillers, anything by Christopher pike, Lois Duncan, and the vampire diaries and secret circle series by l.j. Smith. And of course the hunger games. Phillip Pullman his dark materials, which starts with the golden compass. Lois Lowry the giver omnibus. Holly black has this trilogy that’s a modern faery tale. The books are tithe, valiant, and Ironside. All the above are YA but kind of all ages and very enjoyable as an adult.
