That all depends on the book, if it is a good book, 2 days, if not it might be weeks.

Differs, without the child and a good read probably a few hours. But since said child is home educated and alot of my recent books are slow starters, more like a few days

About 4 days. I’m a busy gal lol so I read some before bed all while going to bed at a reasonable hour

I could finish that the same day if I started it after lunch and had a lazy afternoon and evening.

If it’s good a couple of hours. If it’s a slow read, couple of days. I’m a fairly quick reader when I sit down to read so all depends on the book

Depends on the size of the font, what else is going on in my life, and how engaging the book is.

It depends for me. If I have anything else to do, how invested I am in the story, etc. I’ve finished a 400 some page book in like 2 days, been on a 300 some page one right now for almost a week because of easter and everything.

Depends on the book and what is happening in my life. If I am working I can only read a wee bit waiting to go home and when at home. If a day off and nothing planned and if I am into it, 3 hours maybe more maybe less xxz

During the regular work week I usually only read for a half hour or so before bed so I feel like at that pace it takes me awhile. 3-4 weeks. Weekends and vacations I can find more time and make faster progress. In general I think I take well above the average time, just because I don’t have as much time.

If it’s a good book it will be done in 4-6 hours. Other than that maybe two days. That’s reading in the evening or on the weekend.

@Dawn OMG…… ? You must be a speed reader and have an untidy house and be very very skinny!

1

@Joy nope. I’m OCD about the house. That’s why I don’t read as much as I would like. Ha ha!

Too many variables with that question. When reading tax manuals, 300 pages can take a while but a great novel, not very long. Also depends on what is happening in my life. 🙂

Yes, I have to agree with everyone else. There are a lot of factors to consider here. It depends on whether I’m really enjoying the book or not, whether I’m even in the mood to read or not and what kind of time I have to devote to reading. If I’m enjoying it and have the time I could finish it in a couple days or if not enjoying or just aren’t in the mood for reading it could take months.

Generally about 3-4 days, of course I don’t read straight through. I do not speed read as I than do not soak up what I’m reading to understand it. I don’t see a point to speed reading, don’t enjoy it as much that way.

@Alison, I was taught speed reading as a child. I read three lines forward at once, then three lines backwards. Makes it fast. Trust me..I prefer to take my time but if the story is good, lol.

2
Laura

@Mari cool ?

0

Fiction takes short of two hours. Biographies or other factual books that longer.

0
Reply
Alison

@Cecilia that’s incredible how to u do that?

1
Cecilia

@Alison I am a pretty fast reader but don’t read each word of a fiction book. I scan down the pages. Biographies and anything with pertinent facts, I have to read each word to retain.

1
Susan

I have no idea. A long time. It is not a race. I do it for enjoyment
