I’m guessing it was just ok or somewhat disappointing? Haven’t read it yet.

Finally someone else who wasn’t overwhelmed with Ove (or Britt-Marie or Grandma). I felt like a freak after seeing all the raves. However, I did not give up on this author. Loved Beartown!

I found Beartown to be extraordinary. I loved the thread of “moments” that was woven throughout the book. I loved each and every one of the characters…even the unlovable ones. I also seriously loved Ove. Britt-Marie and I are just meeting each other…not so sure about her! And Grandma hasn’t made her way to my inbox yet. ❤️

I loved the book. But I get not all books have the same effect on everyone. Sorry you didn’t totally enjoy it.

I’ve read Ove and Britt Marie. Both books use rather, er, eccentric, sometimes annoying characters, who, after a while, become quite endearing. Both books are well-worth the read. Give each of them a pass for a while. They grow on you.
