I like authors who write multiple books, i.e., Wells, Verne, Austen, Dickens, King, etc.

I am not a fan of writers who write a continuous series of the same, connected, stuff.

J.R.R. Tolkien & C.S. Lewis excepted.

I do find that it faded after awhile, but I’ve been a fan since I was eleven so you can see why I love it so much LOL

0
LaibaQuestion author

I m also 13 shall I read it??

0
Kayla

@Laiba I say read them. There isn’t nothing too horrible and mature about them. People believe Edward is very controlling due to being always around Bella and then he sparkles ? But, at 13 they aren’t a bad read. I read them when I was 11 going on 12 and loved them. I say you can always give the first book a try and see how you like it.

Hated it! Vampires are not supposed to sparkle in the sunlight! They are supposed to burn up!!! If you want to read a great vampire book read Stephen King’s “Salem’s Lot”. It’s a classic and one of his earlier books. I read it back in the mid 1970’s as a teen and again a couple of years ago-loved it both times!

1
Reply
Alyssa

How was Edward controlling and abusive?

0
Amy

Careful ladies! I don’t see where he was abusive either. I saw him as controlling but in a protective way.

0
Alyssa

I wasn’t trying to start a fight, I just wanted to discuss, I really am curious why she feels that way.

0
Rebecca

Wait…why am I being reprimanded? I answered a question that asked my opinion. I didn’t direct my answer to anybody. In fact, I haven’t even read most of the 150+ responses so I CAN’T be attacking anybody. However, in the interest of avoiding further drama I’ll refrain from further comment.

0
Agnes

OKAY SPOILERS BUT I WISH TO PROPERLY ANSWER @Alyssa‘S QUESTION.

@Alyssa he was exceedingly jealous, he became increasingly angry and abusive whenever Bella spent time with family or Jacob. He altered her truck so she COULDN’T go see him. He used his absence as a form of punishment and he was constantly speaking of his inability to ‘control himself’ around her.

He left bruises on her post-sex and BLAMED HER !! He KIDNAPPED HER and he used Jacob against her, more than once. I have other examples if you’d like to make this another thread so we can discuss it.

0
Agnes

And by abusive I mean emotionally and mentally. Which he exceeded in both, quite frequently.

0
Christine

I enjoyed all of them and the movies.

No way amazing
The books are horrible ?
N I think the series should be renamed ‘Bella’s Safety’
Coz the whole world seem to have Bella’s safety as there top priority in the stupid series….

1
Reply
Agnes

Let me give you synopsis.

It’s a book about weak women giving in to controlling (uncontrollable) men who have severe issues with jealousy, sexual harassment, violence and who view women as objects to be possessed rather than loved.

There is bestiality, borderline rape, gaslighting, kidnapping, Stockholm syndrome and, oh yeah! How could I forget?! Intended, indirect AND direct pedophilia.

But I mean … *shrugs* you do you …. whatever you like …. it’s just sends a REALLY bad message to everyone in regards to relationships and veiled possessive boyfriends…
