I like authors who write multiple books, i.e., Wells, Verne, Austen, Dickens, King, etc.
I am not a fan of writers who write a continuous series of the same, connected, stuff.
J.R.R. Tolkien & C.S. Lewis excepted.
As a teen I loved the books. Hated the movies though. Dont know what my adult self would think if i read them again. Not tje best books in the world but definitely enjoyable
I loved the books. I still want to read them over again. I hated the movies.
I liked the books, the movies not so much.
It’s okay if you like sparkling vampires. Not ones I’d read again though.
Movies stunk but the books were good. I still re-read them often.
I thought that I wouldn’t like them but I gave them a try. I actually liked them, maybe because I didn’t expect much from them…
I enjoyed the books. They aren’t anywhere close to Anne Rice’s vampire chronicles though
A good fluff read.
I love the books and the movies
Liked and I am 67.
Lovely books much better than the movies
I personally don’t do YA so I didn’t read this series. I’ve read everything that came after and liked them all an awful lot
Your choice..
But I suggest u to read ? YA and fiction u will enjoy
🙂
@Laiba I’m over 40, not much interested in reading about teenagers lol
Ohh I wasn’t familiar by your age oops ?
Even when I was a teenager I was reading Danielle Steel and Stephen King
Ohh good
I’m sort of meh about it. They were neither good or bad for me.
Same here
I even have the set twice over. Paperback and hardback.
I loved the books. They are so much better than the movies
Enjoyed them back in the day. The movies were horrible though. I still want to reread them.
not really worth rereading them..
I have only read the first book but I’m going to read them – I know a lot of people are saying not too but I’m kinda looking forward to them
Same here ?
I m very perplexed about that
Whether its series is worth reading or time wasting but first I m completing the percy jackson series
@Laiba – I want to read the Percy Jackson series –

I have not read the whole series I m on the third part but as much as I read it is a good ? series u should read it.. 🙂

Any thing else?
Be free
@Laiba – thank you so much
No prob
Just helped u
My pleasure :-*
Super cringy. Too cheesy for a mature reader for sure. Didn’t evem like it when I read it (I was 12-13). Not a good book at all.
I’m mature and I still love them. ?
Good for you 🙂 Not to my taste though. Mostly all YA aren’t. There are a couple good ones of course.
I do find that it faded after awhile, but I’ve been a fan since I was eleven so you can see why I love it so much LOL
I m also 13 shall I read it??
@Laiba I say read them. There isn’t nothing too horrible and mature about them. People believe Edward is very controlling due to being always around Bella and then he sparkles ? But, at 13 they aren’t a bad read. I read them when I was 11 going on 12 and loved them. I say you can always give the first book a try and see how you like it.
Thnx @Kayla for such a good ? intro
I loved all the books but that was about 10 years ago I think so I’d be interested to re-read and see if I still enjoyed them…I also loved the films
I loved it! It was nice and actually, it’s my favorite book and movie. ?
Loved the books and didn’t want the last one to end x
I haven’t read the books in years but they came out when I was a teenager and I loved them. I liked the movies. I should reread the books soon!
Amazing books l loved them all x
I thought it was a fun read. I really got pulled into the world she created. If she wrote another book in that universe I would stand in line and buy it the day it came out.
Read it if you’re a newbie.
You’ll hate it later
I love it.
I read the 1st book it was good but had no desire to read the others
I LOVE the books. I’m a total sucker for them.
I loved them still do.
Loved the books!!!
Not great for me. Poorly written. The last one was actually like work to finish and I didn’t even read the last 100 pages or so. The two in the middle are better.
i love the books
Amazing!!!
Struggled to finish this series x
I like the story overall, but the writing in the first novel was horrible to the point of distraction, and there are definitely some aspects of the story I didn’t care for (sparkling vampires being a big one).
I enjoyed the books.
Not good for me. Too boring and soooo slow. Too many words, nothing happened. I read the first book because two of my friends insisted. I struggle. One of the worst book I have read.
Ohhh!!
I could not understand why anyone found Bella interesting, much less two interesting men. Other characters were interesting. Fast read. No way I’d read it again.
Badly written, and the premise is that you really NEED a boyfriend … ahem, not true!
I told my husband whwn i got done i want my life back for the time i read it. Cause the first good 2 and 3 okay 4th i wish i stopped.
This always makes me smile, as I am a fan of The King : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zb72V_4N5ko
Love the series, read them every year
I read it not a bad book.
It’s better for young adults I think. Not great. Rips off Anne Rice a bit whose vampire novels are great.
They’re ok if you’re a teenager.
Yaa I m 13
I liked the books
I like them
Depends on your taste! ?
Yaa
Just asking opinions
It’s not that bad dear, you can try! ☺
Yess but first finishing my some of the planned series
Okay..& share your planned ones please! ?
Ok I will.. 🙂
Thanks in advance! 🙂
Mortal Instruments
Infernal devices
Heroes of Olympus
Cinder
Gone girl
Reading.. Percy Jackson 🙂
Don’t know not a fan of vampires
Ohh no prob..
They were not to my taste. I got maybe 50 pages into the first one and called it quits.
I loved the series. Are they perfectly written: no. But, they are enjoyable and light and somewhat fluffy. they really got me into reading at age 12, but I still love them at age 22.
I read them when I was 20 and loved them ?
Twilight filled a need at the time…it’s not poorly written nor is it amazingly written. I enjoy the series, but it probably won’t stand the test if time like Harry Potter, Hunger Games, etc.
I have read the twilight books and found them entertaining but I really liked her book the host , (don’t judge it by the movie) lol
I agree; I liked them but I loved the host
Well I’ve heard a lot of people saying that they literally Hated the books, but I enjoyed them while reading so I’d say its a good read. Can’t say I love it tho
Only read the first in the series but really liked it
I loved them they are a guilty pleasure.
Not great literature, but a fun easy read. I liked it.
It’s trash. Bad writing, abusive relationships, and poorly designed mythology
This is what my daughter told when I questioned reading them. Very poorly written, and she knew I didn’t enjoy books like that.
I was on the fence about it. An entertaining story, but horrendous grammar. Words like “unseeingly”.
I love them that was what started my reading addiction xx
All of the twilight books are amazing! Won’t be able to put them down! Totally worth losing sleep!!
I loved them. I honestly believe this it’s a series everyone needs to read n form their own opinion
only you can decide a
I really enjoyed twilight series
Couldn’t do it!
I liked them !
I loved them read them all in 2 days and it’s kept me reading
Loved them, read them twice …so far. 😛
Loved them
I loved them so much I read them all 3 times
Not a fan. I hated the books.
It’s not “amazing.” ? Don’t build it up like that or you’ll be disappointed. It’s enjoyable.
First time I read of a sparkling vampire 🙂
I loved them back when I read them, but after I started reading some really well written stories, I found they weren’t that good. Such as Hunger Games. After reading about strong independent Katniss, I found Bella really annoying.
I liked them. I am 65 years old, and read them after my daughter bought them. Not the best books I ever read, but pretty interesting.
I hated them, my mom loved them.
It’s a guilty pleasure that’s already making a comeback, which speaks volumes (ha) for the series.
I watched and read not bad
The only book that I’ve ripped up and burned. Hated it. Didn’t want any young women to buy my copy from Goodwill and consider killing themselves because their boyfriend moved away.
Hated it! Vampires are not supposed to sparkle in the sunlight! They are supposed to burn up!!! If you want to read a great vampire book read Stephen King’s “Salem’s Lot”. It’s a classic and one of his earlier books. I read it back in the mid 1970’s as a teen and again a couple of years ago-loved it both times!
I mean, is not even the same kind of book you know? And vampires are not supposed to exist tho lol so is kinda funny. but its ok, i mean, not everyone likes the same.
Loved it. Its my favorite book/saga in the whole world (and i’ve read a LOT of good books)
Amazing book ?
I love it!
Amazing set of books I really enjoyed reading them
Bla did nothing for me . But others Loved it like they say to each is other . Just like fsog it ok I like it but I could take it or leave it . Yea I just not big fan of those books
Everyone has different tastes and appreciate different things I happen to love twilight and so did a lot of my coworkers.
Again I’ve talk to some people that couldn’t stand the box.
Some people like Star Wars some people don’t.
Matters is what you like.
Yes u r right ✔ 🙂
Love it
I liked them. Easy read. Way better read than 50 shades
Twilight is a good series totally enjoyable read
I think for the audience it was written for it was great.
I loved the series.
I think it was a horrible book.
Enjoyed it when it first came out.. Not something I would chose for myself now but had no desire to reread them either.. Read worse but read a whole lot better.. Easy read last book was terrible and the ending completely ruins the series in my opinion
Everyone will have a different answer for this; I read the first one and thought it was terrible.
If you like it, you like it
It was very love/hate for me. I enjoyed the stories but thought the writing was pretty horrible and the dialogue ridiculously unrealistic. I hated Bella but really liked the other characters.
Its definitely a one time read series.. this was my first Vampire story, so I more than liked it 🙂
Loved it
I enjoyed the books, lovely story.
Is it okay okay ? for a 13 year old girl ?
I m 13??
I would say so.
Ok thank you
Uhmmmm No!! It is NOT. Do you not remember what’s IN those books? I’d be hard pressed to let my 15 yr old niece read them.
Whatever you ladies do PLEASE DO NOT take ANY relationship advice these stories give because the relationships in these books are NOT healthy.
I enjoyed the books but hated the movies.
I liked them. Not my favorite series ever, but still good.
I enjoyed the books and the movies very much.
It’s a pathetic story.
It’s not bad but there are much better vampire / parnormal romance
It’s so wonderful book ???? you will fall in love with him ❤
Oki but him…. Who?? 🙂
Of course a book ?
There are a lot of better books but it was very good and I enjoy it
I did not enjoy the series. I own it just in case my tween wants yo read it.
Hated it. Nothing like telling our young girls a controlling abusive man is what you need in your life to blossom and be happy.
How was Edward controlling and abusive?
Careful ladies! I don’t see where he was abusive either. I saw him as controlling but in a protective way.
I wasn’t trying to start a fight, I just wanted to discuss, I really am curious why she feels that way.
Wait…why am I being reprimanded? I answered a question that asked my opinion. I didn’t direct my answer to anybody. In fact, I haven’t even read most of the 150+ responses so I CAN’T be attacking anybody. However, in the interest of avoiding further drama I’ll refrain from further comment.
OKAY SPOILERS BUT I WISH TO PROPERLY ANSWER @Alyssa‘S QUESTION.
@Alyssa he was exceedingly jealous, he became increasingly angry and abusive whenever Bella spent time with family or Jacob. He altered her truck so she COULDN’T go see him. He used his absence as a form of punishment and he was constantly speaking of his inability to ‘control himself’ around her.
He left bruises on her post-sex and BLAMED HER !! He KIDNAPPED HER and he used Jacob against her, more than once. I have other examples if you’d like to make this another thread so we can discuss it.
And by abusive I mean emotionally and mentally. Which he exceeded in both, quite frequently.
I enjoyed all of them and the movies.
No way amazing
The books are horrible ?
N I think the series should be renamed ‘Bella’s Safety’
Coz the whole world seem to have Bella’s safety as there top priority in the stupid series….
Let me give you synopsis.
It’s a book about weak women giving in to controlling (uncontrollable) men who have severe issues with jealousy, sexual harassment, violence and who view women as objects to be possessed rather than loved.
There is bestiality, borderline rape, gaslighting, kidnapping, Stockholm syndrome and, oh yeah! How could I forget?! Intended, indirect AND direct pedophilia.
But I mean … *shrugs* you do you …. whatever you like …. it’s just sends a REALLY bad message to everyone in regards to relationships and veiled possessive boyfriends…
Ty. ?
You’re quite welcome!! I flew through these books when I was younger but it wasn’t until the movies came out and after reading the fourth book that it REALLY hit me. This series has more issues than Cosmopolitan!
Ty. Again.
