It’s on my TBR list, but I read “We Have Always Lived in the Castle” and didn’t care for it. Willing to give another Shirley Jackson a chance just because her personal life was so intriguing.
I didn’t find it chilling or creepy. The writing didn’t captivate me to have any feelings towards the characters. I found the writing to be jumbled and confusing. It was not a page turner. On the contrary, I found myself rereading the same page over and over again, because I had forgotten what I had already read. 2/5 stars.
I’ve heard very mixed reviews. I have not read it but I’ve heard the book is nothing like the show and quite slow. But I also have heard that other people love it. So idk

This is one of those rare times when I liked the tv series better than the book. I didn’t enjoy the book that much.
