I’m reading three at the moment.

That’s pretty good,it’s more like “living faster”,but how is it possible? And how to choose’em?

1
Christian

Well, for me usually it takes a bit longer to finish every book this way but I don’t mind it. You can choose books of different genres so as not to get confused. I am reading two paperbacks and an eBook in my phone.

1
FroQuestion author

how am I suppose to wait till the exams are over to try it out?thanks a lot miss♥️

1

Mister ??

0
Ann

I can do it if one is fiction and one is nonfiction.

2
Reply
FroQuestion author

So you mean to be way much different? Have you ever tried to read books that match each other?

0
Ann

@Fro, I have, but I found it too confusing. I prefer to enjoy one fiction book at a time. I can read two nonfiction books at once, though, and it doesn’t bother me.

1
FroQuestion author

that’s more like a game for brain, and that’s amazing,I’m just gonna try different once like you said thanks a lot ?

1

@Fro, happy reading!

1

0

I used to strictly only read one book at a time but I’ve started reading two sometimes. it’s not hard for me. I don’t get the plots or characters confused. it’s not hard for me to keep things separate 🙂

1
FroQuestion author

then I’ll try it out to figure it out if it’s hard or not?thanks a lot

0

I do it all the time, not simultaneously. Sometimes I have up to three books going at a time.

1
Reply
FroQuestion author

You mean leave them half read?

1
Oscar

Fro Mariwan well yes, but only briefly. I read a chapter or two of a book, then change to another as a respite of sorts. Keeps you mentally nimble 🙂

1
FroQuestion author

haha well that sound much like a game, try to finish them maybe that’s how you can suggest another to read it!thanks a lot.

0
Oscar

We should have a little clarity here, just so that we are on the same page. Do you think that I don’t finish the books?

1
FroQuestion author

sorry it just seemed like that?

0

That you would even consider that from a member of a book group speaks of a somewhat askew view of us.

It’s possible. I’ve done it before but they have to be two different types of books for it to work for me. Otherwise I get the stories confused.

1

What you mean “have to be two different types of book”? Like fiction and psychology?

0

@Fro, well for me it can be like a mystery and a historical fiction. Or maybe a cozy mystery and a romance. I just can’t have two of the same genre.

0

Yes, I read 3-4 books at a time, a couple of different genres. Always done that, it’s great.

@Fro hi Fro, do you mean the genres have to be different? In which case, generally yes, I try and have different ones eg 1-2 murder mystery or legal mystery, 1 comedy or life type (drama) and 1 non-fiction. Sorry, if that is what you mean. Cheers.

1
FroQuestion author

sorry the genres!

0

0

1
Reply
Cindy

Yes. It’s not as hard as it sounds. If you change the perspective, it seems simple: Think of how many tv series there are. People watch one show, then another, then another. They need to remember all the details to understand what’s happening on the next week’s episode…with every show they watch. I know the brain uses different parts for reading vs viewing, but it’s a similar concept. I typically have several books going at any given time…at least 2 anyway.

2

I have a set amount of the Bible that I read every night. I’m reading a book by James P. Clapper at the moment but when I’m tired of thinking hard and need something “mellower”, I switch over to a fiction book or the book on pets n the afterlife. All very interesting. It’s like chocolate fills the need for dessert but bananas fill the need for fruits. ?

I read four or five at a time. It’s no different than watching serval different TV shows. Throughout the week.

However the books that I read are a completely different subject matter so they’re easy to put down and pick up.

I try to read
1 fiction.
1 self help.
1 political
1 biography
1 history book

It’s easier to keep track of what’s going on.
