I finished the 50 hsades series due to having bought the box set and waiting for it to get better. It doesn’t but that’s just my opinion.

Nothing wrong with”:mommy porn” if written well! 🙂

No nothing wrong with it but fifty shades is poorly written.

I stopped reading after page six as I found it to be poorly written. There is better written erotica out there if that’s what you’re interested in.

I’m not proud of this, but read the trilogy. It’s all horrendous. Go with the Crossfire series! Way better written!

Read the book. If you like it, great. If not, oh well. Personally, I didn’t like the first book. But I did like the second one and I loved the third. I’m glad I kept going because I seriously thought about not picking up book two after I got done with the first one.

I, as many others here have said, don’t care for the trilogy. But I recommend you read it and form your own opinion. I recommend Anne Rice The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty. So good!

Just try em. You’ll know right away if you like or not. I don’t really understand why people hate them so much. Or hate the author so much. **shrug** just try them

No,I really DON’T understand WHAT people saw in this book, the whole premise is VERY disturbing,I personally think anyway

Actually this series is what inspired me to keep reading. I say give it a try.. each book in the series is a little slow in the beginning then picks up the pace a few chapters in.. in the end I was happy with it even tho there is alot of things that drove me crazy along the way. It’s worth a shot

Erin

It’s good for what it is. If you like that kind of novel then you may like it, but don’t expect a literary masterpiece of course. Personally, I enjoyed it for what it is. It’s not the best thing ever, but enjoyable nonetheless.

I read a few pages and knew I would be tearing my hair out at how badly written it is.

I got a kick out of Ellen Degeneres’ “reading”:

I read Fifty Shades of Grey and upon completion, I picked up GONE GIRL – after reading exactly one page of GONE GIRL, I found more meat, more meaning, more richness in words, plot, description, time, day, weather, emotions, intelligence, dialogue – you name it – in the FIRST Page of GONE GIRL, that I found in the the entirety of Fifty Shades of Grey – so there you have it – in a nutshell!! 🙂

It reads exactly as it is…twilight fan fiction. So, if you enjoyed that if you read it then go for it. If you haven’t read it…well it’s not top quality reading.

And we are talking GONE GIRL, folks, not Anna Karenina or The Great Gatsby either …. ha ha (Don’t mean to be mean, did sort of enjoy 50 Shades, but there is not a lot there THERE, if you know what I mean ….)

Don’t do it. It is HORRIBLY written and a horrible misrepresentation of the bdsm culture and lifestyle. It is also super repetitive

1

If you like “spicy” books check out the Love At Stake series by Kerrelyn Sparks. It’s paranormal romance but it’s really good!

Its nothing like an adult twilight…… Its a BDSM love story poorly written. It had potential to be a great series but its was so empty feeling. Lack of true description and heartless. I missed the feeling of stepping into a book and being there. It was so lacking that you couldn’t leave your reading chair to even sneak a peak.

I love all kinds of genre and yes even the house wife smut….. bjut this was just sad. Check out the Author Silvia Day. Shes amazing and her book series Crossfire has the same feel but way better written and the story line is fantastic…. and so is the sex 🙂

The characters are not like able and there is a very very weak plot. The people who like it are only reading it for the sex scenes.

I read through the first one and then started the second one because I didn’t like being left hanging, but i couldn’t finish the second one. I got bored with the storyline and constant sex. I found myself skimming through the sex scenes and thinking ‘good grief, give it a rest already’. Lol

I tend to force myself through the books i read if i dont like them. I once read ‘about a boy’ and while it was written well and the plot was a good one it was a VERY slow book i felt and thus i didnt enjoy it as much as i usually enjoy my books. I kind of get the feeling this series may do the same and be more brutal because i love writing myself and im not sure i could handle an unwell written book right now. Its the only book i ever read that i didnt REALLY enjoy and my spirits were broken because i thought all books were great. Lol i came out of that state of mind eventually and i did actually enjoy the book to a point but i really dont want to put myself in that situation again. Im leaning towards skipping this one to be honest. I appreciate ALL the imput and maybe one day ill be able to pick it up. For the experience but right now i dont think a read like fifty shades is for me. Thanks guys!

I have them as keepers on my shelf…it was the heart of the story…there is a plot and backstory to Grey…and I personally liked them enough to pay full retail and keep them for future reading…they will never be loaners…
