I have a dedicated reader and love it. I cant read on a tablet, but the lack of distractions is nice.
If you were choosing between them…. I think paperwhite is the one with the light. I’d go with that! I used ereader pre-built in lights and can vouch that having the light makes all the difference in the world.
@Colett I have a multi usb power socket so I can connect phone, kindle, iPad, smart watch without getting tangled in the process and it works just fine ?.
I use the nearest Android charger to hand with mine! My Paperwhite is 5 years old and still going strong and I currently use Oasis. I don’t think I ever had an actual Amazon Kindle charger with any of mine ?
I have both an iPad and a Kindle Paperwhite and the Kindle is excellent for reading outdoors and in the car. No glare and looks and feels more like a real book. I love it.
I have both, my Kindle is smaller so fits in my purse better. I prefer my paperwhite for reading. Don’t really like reading on my iPad, but I do keep my cookbooks on my iPad. 🙂
It is good to help avoid the backlight. Kindle can therefore help promote better sleep habits as the screen is designed differently (both the backlit and ones that are not). This should also be better for your eyes and feels more like reading a regular book!
It depends. If you have an iPad you don’t need a kindle fire, but a kindle Paperwhite (or any other kindle e-reader) is much better for reading than an iPad.
I bought one ??♀️ tempted me too. I have a kindle fire, but the glare makes it so hard to read outside, so I bought a regular kindle on prime day. Price was too good to pass up.
Yes. I have found a kindle to be better on my eyes allowing me to read more and longer. I also prefer my kindle because it is smaller and holds a longer charge time than my iPad.
I haven’t picked up my kindle since the day my mom gave it to me. (We replaced hers and I took her old one to see if I liked it) Just replaced my iPad mini with another so I can keep reading there. Its a lot easier for me.
I love my Kindle. I also have the app on my phone, but there’s something more… magical almost about reading on a Kindle. But it really depends upon what you like and which you prefer. I’d say go test one out somewhere, and see if you would enjoy it better than using your iPad.
Are you looking at a fire or dedicated reader?
Just the reader, they have one for 50$ or the paper white for $75 ? I think?

yeo, no glare, smaller and lighter
I want the get the paper white too! But you have to pay an extra 20 for the charger because they don’t include with the actual kindle ?
Any usb to power charging does the trick.
It does? I was reading the reviews and they keep saying that when you use any charger it says it isn’t supported

Yes. I’ve got an iPad but for reading I definitely use my kindle.
Not as many distractions on a kindle
Yes, I have an iPad but the Kindle is more enjoyable and easier to carry for my reading.
I have both and I use my Paperwhite for reading. Easier on the eyes.
I love my Paperwhite! I like to read outside and the iPad has too much of a glare.

I got a paper white lol
I use both. I use the iPad in bed because of the black background. I use my paperwhite outside. It’s awesome in bright light conditions.
Yess!!
I prefer using my iPad to my kindle. The bigger screen works better for me and with the black background is better for my eyes.
Totally worth it.
I have both and love reading on my paperwhite
I love my paper white. Reading on Ipad/phone gives me really bad headaches. I have none with my kindle ?

Easier on the eyes and great battery life
Absolutely. I just got a Paperwhite and it’s so much better on the eyes for reading.
The Paperwhite tempted me too! Now I need to read Kindle Paperwhite for dummies to learn it all ??
Yes’m, because the books take up a lot of space on an iPad. I love my kindle fire, had it for several years now.
I got my kindle on prime day last year!? I think it is very worth it! ??
I have a Kindle Fire HDX and a Nook. My bf just got me a paperwhite last night for the beach and I’m so excited for it!
Yes
My eyes get strained reading on the phone or iPad. But no issues reading on my paper white even when using the backlight.
Yes yes yes!
I have an iPad and kindle paperwhite!
Yep. Super lightweight and easy to hold
I love my kindle paperwhite! It’s so much easier to read on than my iPad
My kindle holds a charge way longer than my ipad. That is why I bought it.
yes – i read on both – the kindle paperwhite is so much lighter to hold than the ipad and holds a charge better
I read only on my ipad…gave kindle away.
I hated carrying my iPad around to big and expensive! Get a kindle!
All my books are my iBooks so a Kindle would be wasted on me

Definitely.
Yes!!! I hate reading on my iPad! The paperwhite doesn’t hurt my eyes at all, and you can read it in the sun!
yes

Yes you don’t need both
I love my Paperwhite! I’ve had iPads and I always end up selling those for my Kindle.
I have a kindle but use my iPad more often so I can access reading apps from the library.
