The back light, the shape, stuff like that. They all hold books but the paper white light can’t adjust and the Oasis has an odd shape to it. The Voyage was a happy medium for me.
@Nikki she meant the light sensor ? the light automatically adjusts on the voyage to the perfect light in the room (which can be adjusted manually as well). With paperwhite, you can only adjust it manually (no light sensor) ?
i love my kindle! it’s very easy on the eyes in comparison to reading on a phone/tablet, and i love that you can have numerous books on there so as soon as you finish one, you can go right into the next. also, if you get a library card you can use overdrive to borrow books from your library and have it sent to your kindle.
I have the black and white one, Voyager, and the fire and I love them. My daughter has the black and white one now. She loves it to. Makes it so much eaiser to take books with you. Esp. heavy ones.
I had the kindle keyboard for a long time and I loved it. I now have the paperwhite which I like even more. I like the ability to have all of my books in one place and the ease of purchasing books through amazon is also a plus!
It changed my life. I use to have shoulder and back pain from carrying around so many books because I just couldn’t be without a book and an extra Incase I finished the first then a third just in case. I take my kindle everywhere.
I tried two different versions and they gave me headaches after just a few minutes. I finally started using my Samsung 10.1 inch tablet with the Kindle app and it works great. I just do the settings where my pages are a sepia tone and use fonts that are good for my eyes. Much prefer that for myself.
Loveee mine! (I have the paperwhite). I refused to get one for years as well, real books are better 🙂 But I am reading so mich more since I got it, it is so accessible and comfortable
Yeah I may get that one later but I really didn’t wanna spend half my paycheck or actually more than half for that. I may get that for Christmas maybe in a few years
I have the paperwhite and can’t really rationalize paying more for a better kindle. It’s just so good already… They’d need to bring more to the table before I splurge on something that expensive.
Or you can invest in a regular tablet and have Nook, Kindle and if you get an iPad, iBooks too. I have a nook (first gen) a tablet, and iPhone all are awesome for carrying your library.. I am in a sense never without a book that way.. lol
I also have the paperwhite and I also love it. If I read any paper books I tap the screen hoping to get a definition and I have to laugh at how spoiled I am.
Paperwhite all the way. No other apps in there to distract you from your reading. Built in backlight and the display is easy on your eyes, which most tablets are not. 10/10 would recommend.
I did read a book on my phone kindle app the other day for the first time, with the blue light filter maxed out of course. It was an enjoyable experience but I wouldn’t want to do that all the time…
I have a Kindle Paperwhite and a Kindle Fire. I don’t like to read on the Fire except for kids books with lots of pictures and magazines, but I love it for games, internet, and video. The Paperwhite is light weight and easy in the eyes both in dark and outdoors in super-bright sun. Plus it is easy to it in a trip than a stack of books. I like to read actual books, but when I’m away or in the dark I use my Paperwhite.
I have a Kindle Paperwhite. It’s nice and has a lot of cool features, but the battery started crapping out after only one year and now I only buy printed books again.
I adore my kindle paperwhite, especially for ARC’s from authors or Netgalley, makes reading them so much more pleasant. I don’t use it all the time but when I do it’s wonderful
Love it when I remember to use it. I have a K2 and Kindle fire. I use the Fire the most but the old kindle is great for travel or when I am away from a power source as my battery last a very long time.
LOVE!!! I have a Fire and a Paperwhite. I get a little carried away with all the sales of ebooks they have. I get emails daily for sale items and find myself hitting “buy” way too easily.
I like my Kindle and I also read on my Kindle Fire. But real books beat the amount I read on the Kindles. I like to take them on vacations or if a real book is too heavy.
I have owned a total of 4 kindles in my life! They are AMAZING! The voyage is definitely my favorite out of all of them ? I do suggest paying a little more up front for the 3G because then you can get books ANYWHERE ANY TIME (no monthly charges for the 3G!)
ebooks are generally less expensive as well, some as low as 99 cents, and you can get many indie books for free on special, so you’ll be reading up a storm!
All the things I love: Read in any light, Portable, Books on Demand, Interfaces w/ Goodreads & Amazon. What I do not like is not being able to share / loan my books with friends and family. You can do a Family Share account which great for spouse and kids, but not when you want to loan to anyone outside that circle. I have the Paperwhite.
I love my kindle! It’s lightweight and the battery lasts. I love using it rather than just the app. It saves my phone battery for actual phone use. I also get cheap books through lists I’m on. Plus, the one free advanced book a month with prime!
I. LOVE. IT! I fought so hard against getting a Kindle, because you know, BOOKS! But I got my husband’s hand me down against my will one year, and I was just captured by the absolute convenience of it! I’ve had one ever since. I have a Kindle Fire, and I read so much faster with it! Also, I set the background to black, the writing to white, and I see the print so much better! (Middle aged eyes are grateful for my Kindle Fire!) I love how I can pack it in my bag and bam! It’s so light and slim!
hmm no i cna’t as i don’t have cloud and not paying for it but thats not my biggest beef i get annoyed they don’t show up in my library so rarely get read especially the instafreebies as they go into docs
I love my kindle! I have a 2nd gen Kindle Fire as well as a Kindle Fire HD. it’s wonderful to always have a plethora of books at my disposal when I can’t carry print books with me.
I love mine. I have the second generation which is sort of outdated. But it was my first so I love it. ?I have a Kindle fire which is just too heavy. And my favorite is the Kindle voyage. It’s lightweight and it’s just perfect.
The Voyage doesn’t have any gadgets… You can’t connect to your Facebook or your Instagram etc. But it’s lightweight, you have all of your books at your disposal and the screen is just like paper.
I guess I’m not sure what you mean by extra gadgets. If you go to the Amazon page, there is a comparison that you can do to see which one would fit you better.
If you want strictly an ereader than a Paperwhite/Voyage/Oasis is your best bet (there’s a new Oasis coming out at the end of the month, but it’s pricey). But if you want to be able to connect to the internet, do Facebook, games, etc then you’ll want a Fire (but the prolong reading on a Fire is not good on the eyes)
I love my kindle! While nothing beats a physical book, it is wonderful to have so many books at my discretion. I have a Kindle Paperwhite, and I use it almost daily. It is great to have on my commute to work and school and my lunch breaks. The books are cheaper, and the free ones are not that bad, and there are often deals and sales on the books that I want/have in wishlist!
I swore I’d never own one because I love paper books. My husband bought one as a gift and I had to use it so he would feel going s about buying it. Now I love it. I can buy as many books as I like and he has no clue. It’s so much easier to take multiple books everywhere I go. I still buy paper ones though.
I like. It’s always difficult to get used to, but I go between books and hard books. I’ve gotten used to highlighting words on the kindle for the meaning, etc., and when I go to do it with a regular book, have to google. ? I also can check out books from library digitally onto kindle. I also watch moves and tv. I’m absolutely fine. I’m on my fourth, I think. I have an iPhone, kindle, and laptop. They all, plus regular books, fit into my life. Oh, and because of a pesky eye disease, I’ve found a kindle is super to increase type, change lighting, etc. I like my kindle just fine.
I have the kindle Voyage and I love it! It holds so much and it’s so great to use. It’s so sleek and wonderful!
I don’t know anything about that one. What’s the difference between that one and the others
The back light, the shape, stuff like that. They all hold books but the paper white light can’t adjust and the Oasis has an odd shape to it. The Voyage was a happy medium for me.
you can adjust the brightness on the paperwhite.
@Nikki she meant the light sensor ? the light automatically adjusts on the voyage to the perfect light in the room (which can be adjusted manually as well). With paperwhite, you can only adjust it manually (no light sensor) ?
@Emma haha thanks i didnt realize it did it automatically! That’s actually a neat feature
@Nikki haha yea! I really love it! ? #kindlevoyageislife
I have the kindle app lol I like it . Amazon offers prime reading for cheap monthly fee you can get tons of books for freee
I have the app as well but I don’t wanna keep upgrading my phone to a bigger phone so I thought I would check out the kindle
i love my kindle! it’s very easy on the eyes in comparison to reading on a phone/tablet, and i love that you can have numerous books on there so as soon as you finish one, you can go right into the next. also, if you get a library card you can use overdrive to borrow books from your library and have it sent to your kindle.
I do have a library card
I have a second generation kindle (reading only) and a Kindle Fire. I love both.
I LOOOOOOVVVVE MY KINDLE-BABY ?? I have the 8th Generation
I have kindle fire 8 generation and so far really liking it
I have the black and white one, Voyager, and the fire and I love them.
I have a paper white. Love it!!
I LOVE my Kindle PaperWhite, I also have a Kindle Oasis
It changed my life. I use to have shoulder and back pain from carrying around so many books because I just couldn’t be without a book and an extra Incase I finished the first then a third just in case. I take my kindle everywhere.
I use a Nook and I have been extremely happy with it for the last 5 years.
So do I!!!
I have that too but some of the books I want are sadly only available with Amazon
I love it 🙂 I’ve used them for years. I get the plain ones with no backlight or anything, because I didn’t want a light on it, no frills or anything.
Love it for traveling
If you love reading ebooks and will use it I say go for it! But I’d rather have physical books so I wouldn’t use it much
I would rather physical books too but my husband has said no more print books for me ???
I tried two different versions and they gave me headaches after just a few minutes. I finally started using my Samsung 10.1 inch tablet with the Kindle app and it works great. I just do the settings where my pages are a sepia tone and use fonts that are good for my eyes. Much prefer that for myself.
I have a kindle paperwhite and love it.
Loveee mine! (I have the paperwhite). I refused to get one for years as well, real books are better 🙂 But I am reading so mich more since I got it, it is so accessible and comfortable
I have a Paperwhite and love it
That’s the one that’s all black and white isn’t it
Wait until October 31. The new one comes out and it is waterproof.
WHAT
Oh it’s the $300 one. I’m much less excited now.
I usually upgrade but I have an oasis and I don’t need a waterproof kindle and I don’t listen to audible so I don’t see the point.
I use the kindle app.. Deals and offers are life
Paperwhite all the way. No other apps in there to distract you from your reading. Built in backlight and the display is easy on your eyes, which most tablets are not. 10/10 would recommend.
I did read a book on my phone kindle app the other day for the first time, with the blue light filter maxed out of course. It was an enjoyable experience but I wouldn’t want to do that all the time…
I have a kindle of some sort but i find that i just use the kindle app more so
I have a Kindle Paperwhite and a Kindle Fire. I don’t like to read on the Fire except for kids books with lots of pictures and magazines, but I love it for games, internet, and video. The Paperwhite is light weight and easy in the eyes both in dark and outdoors in super-bright sun. Plus it is easy to it in a trip than a stack of books. Love it!
Love it, love it, love it!!!
You don’t get as good of a workout carrying your book bag around if you have one. On the upside, your posture improves.
Love it. I’ve had mine for 6 years now. And I do 95% of my reading on it. ? I advise to get the paperwhite.
I have a Kindle Paperwhite. It’s nice and has a lot of cool features, but the battery started crapping out after only one year and now I only buy printed books again.
Love my fire
I adore my kindle paperwhite, especially for ARC’s from authors or Netgalley, makes reading them so much more pleasant. I don’t use it all the time but when I do it’s wonderful
Ok strange question but if you get an ARC from netgalley and have it sent to your kindle does it still have the time limit on it or does that go away
I love mine. I’d love it even more if I had gotten the Paperwhite because it has a backlit screen. Lol. Probably going to upgrade for Christmas!
Love mine
Love it when I remember to use it. I have a K2 and Kindle fire. I use the Fire the most but the old kindle is great for travel or when I am away from a power source as my battery last a very long time.
LOVE!!! I have a Fire and a Paperwhite. I get a little carried away with all the sales of ebooks they have. I get emails daily for sale items and find myself hitting “buy” way too easily.
(just like today – I’ve been wanting the book Nightengale – and waiting for a good price for it – but got mail today that kindle version was on sale for $1.99 – “buy” lol.) https://www.amazon.com/Nightingale-Novel-Kristin-Hannah-ebook/dp/B00JO8PEN2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1507752553&sr=8-1&keywords=nightengale+hannah

I like my Paperwhite, and it gets a lot of use, but I shift between it and tangible books when the mood strikes me.
Love it. When you finish a book in a series, you can grab the next one. Also I get many free books from websites that send me daily emails.
I like my ipad better
I have both – iPad when I follow along with the audio, and kindle for when I’m in the pool.
I love mine
love it!
Get the paperwhite so you can use it at night in bed, and outside.
I’m thinking about that one
ebooks are generally less expensive as well, some as low as 99 cents, and you can get many indie books for free on special, so you’ll be reading up a storm!

How’s the storage on it? Like with my nook I can change sd cards whenever but I don’t think kindle does that do they?
I’m not certain on the new ones. Mine is really old.
I looked it up and you can add a micro SD for up to 256Gigs.
Gave mine to Goodwill..rater have a book
I love my kindle fire when im not using the kindle app
lol I used mine once and now it’s a dust collector.
I use the app on my phone or on my ipad. Once upon a time, I had a kindle… the app made it obsolete real quick!
Great! I read sometimes during lunch with it and can easily check out library books on a whim.
I had one and loved it for many years until it dies on me. Now I just use the Kindle app on my IPad.
I use mine ALL the time. I have kindle paperwhite
I. LOVE. IT! I fought so hard against getting a Kindle, because you know, BOOKS! Love mine!!!!
Love them
DO IT
I’m obsessed with my kindle fire
love mine wish i could afford another one to do the instafreebie/bookfunnel books on it
You should still be able to download those and stick em in the cloud
hmm no i cna’t as i don’t have cloud and not paying for it but thats not my biggest beef i get annoyed they don’t show up in my library so rarely get read especially the instafreebies as they go into docs
I love mine. I have a Kindle Keyboard, Kindle Paperwhite and a Kindle Voyage (named Bon Voyage that I read on absolutely all the time!!!!)
Anyone read Christmas books on their kindle?
I would if I had one. I haven’t made up my mind which one i want though
James Mitchell Which Christmas books?
@JwSierra I have the perfect Christmas book 🙂
I have the kindle app so I can download it and I love Christmas anything. Wal-Mart already has their Christmas stuff out
@JwSierra I can send the link if you want?
Yes please
@JwSierra here is the UK link where there are more reviews 🙂

I love my kindle! I have a 2nd gen Kindle Fire as well as a Kindle Fire HD. it’s wonderful to always have a plethora of books at my disposal when I can’t carry print books with me.
Have the Voyage. Love it.
I’m looking at a refurbished voyage . What kinda extra stuff does it have
I love mine. I have the second generation which is sort of outdated. But it was my first so I love it. ?I have a Kindle fire which is just too heavy. And my favorite is the Kindle voyage. It’s lightweight and it’s just perfect.

@JwSierra http://www.trustedreviews.com/opinion/kindle-voyage-vs-kindle-paperwhite-2913895
Thank you. By extra gadgets I meant able to download games and stuff
@JwSierra I think the Kindle Fire would be the best one for that…but I don’t know.
I thought about that one but I really just wanna read books. I have a phone with all my games and other stuff on it
If you want strictly an ereader than a Paperwhite/Voyage/Oasis is your best bet (there’s a new Oasis coming out at the end of the month, but it’s pricey). But if you want to be able to connect to the internet, do Facebook, games, etc then you’ll want a Fire (but the prolong reading on a Fire is not good on the eyes)
I use my Kindle daily! I got the touchscreen one that doesn’t have a backlit screen because those bother my eyes after a while
I love my kindle! While nothing beats a physical book, it is wonderful to have so many books at my discretion. I have a Kindle Paperwhite, and I use it almost daily. It is great to have on my commute to work and school and my lunch breaks. You have any Christmas books om there?
I use mine whenever I can’t get a physical copy. Much cheaper too….
Those free prime books make it worth it, don’t they!
Hahaha yep! Some authors also sometimes have promos where they provide their books for free
I love mine.
Do you have many Christmas books on it?
I love mine so much and take it everywhere with me!
Do you have a Christmas book you read on kindle?
Nah I’m not really a Christmas kind of person!
Me either. I don’t think I have any actual Christmas books but one of my JD ROBB books is set at Christmas time.
I’m on my 7th and love love love
