There’s a reason it’s a classic. Can’t say that for all classics, but this is a good one

Read it in my Oscar Wilde class last semester. It’s a short book but super dense in regards to the prose. But once you get into it, you’re in for a good time.

In my opinion it could have even been shorter.

@Lana I know! I had read Swans of Fifth Avenue and naturally wanted to read some of his works and I did. But I could have lived without them Not feeling his writing at all

Lana

I have trouble with the classics when they ramble on tangents that have little to do with the plot or they talk so much I forget what the point was in the first place. I know that some of these classics were originally cereals, so maybe they should have been edited instead of cut and pasted from the newspapers.

1
Amy

Good point about serials. Maybe the author would have to reiterate. I didn’t think of that. But I’m still all set with his writing Something annoyed me.

Alydia

I enjoyed it, but it could have used some editing.
