Truth and Lies by @Caroline, is brilliant, not factual but there are similarities to true crime events. Not sure if that is what you are looking for.

I am pretty sure I read that YEARS ago and it was brilliant. Hasn’t that been made into a film?

Many years ago I read Joseph Wambaugh’s The Blooding, based on the first murder case solved by genetic fingerprinting. Not sure if it has stood the test of time, but I certainly was fascinated by it, and it started my love affair with crime literature and fiction.

Tom Cain’s books are all set against a backdrop of real events. They are all fantastic reads.

Street Girl by Rozana McGrattan. Not crime as such but harrowing struggle against evil/criminals.
It’s an amazing book and Rozana is an amazing lady.
