I’m 140 pages in Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and It’s kinda boring. Does it get better? Should I keep going?

I found the book unsatisfying. I finished it, but I have no interest in picking up the sequel. So I’d say no, but that’s just my opinion.

@Mar that was how I felt about the book as well

@Mar I enjoyed the stories much much more when the action moved off the island. It’s definitely not a thriller to begin with, I liked the slow character study, but it doesn’t feel like regular YA at first ,,,

Glad to hear it gets better-I read a bit of it-wasn’t sure what to make of it-and set it aside for now. Will give it another go.

Sometimes I love a movie, so I read the book..but some of them are boring or hard to finish. Like right now I’m trying to read The Virgin Suicides. Its almost been 2 weeks and I just made it past 100 pages..

I was bored at first. I felt the story really picked up around page 100. So, if it’s still not interesting to you at page 140, I would suggest giving up.

I love the series. But I’ll admit they might not be for everyone. So if you don’t find it enjoyable just stop reading it.

I really liked it, but everybody’s taste is different. I have a rule: I read the first thirty pages of a book, and if I still don’t like it, I stop reading it.

Kat

I also live by that rule. It works at least in 95% of books.

I think it’s one of those books where either you enjoy it or you don’t. If you haven’t enjoyed it up until now, you’re probably not going to change your mind.
