Some yes and some no. I’ve found them to be very hit and miss. I enjoyed The Choice and Safe Haven. I really did not enjoy The Best of Me.

I’ve yet to read any of Spark’s books, (Because none of them came across as appealing.) But I’m not opposed to it. It’s possible that maybe they just weren’t appealing at the time I looked them up. 🙂

Once you have read one you will know his formula..they are all tear jerkers more or less but still fun, light reads..

He and his wife of over 20 years divorced that might have something to do with it. I have read all of his books except the most recent ones.

1
Judy

Naomi, it’s the last 2 or 3 that seemed to change. ..

0
Naomi

If they came out within the last 2-3 years I’ll bet money that that’s the reason. So sad

0
Judy

Probably so

0
Jamie

I think his writing has changed since he’s been divorced, too.

Well I can’t wait to read the one’s that I have of his… my local goodwill had many of his books, I wanted Safe Haven but it wasn’t in good condition … 🙁

1
Naomi

Start with the older ones the notebook and the wedding are my favorite

1
Naomi

Reading it made me upset that they ended the notebook (movie) the way they did. It would have been great on film if done right and he himself worked on the screen play and script

1
Jamie

Books are almost always been than the movie version!

1
Naomi

Not almost ALWAYS they’re always better than the movie but some times you get a director that’s a big fan of the book that stays as true to it as possible (Chris Columbus with the first two Harry potter movie’s) and others you end up with queen of the damned

I use to love his first books but I haven’t liked the last couple of books he has written. I sometimes think he is more interested in making movies instead of his writing. Two by Two was hard for me to get into and the editing was terrible.
