I would like to read a ‘choose your own adventure’ book, I’ve never read any before, any recommendations? Thanks!

If you like Neil Patrick Harris, he wrote a super unique and quirky Choose Your Own Autobiography! I loved it!
There are a bunch you can get either through amazon or through used booksellers. I got my husband a set for Christmas since they were his favorites as a kid. Didn’t cost me much at all!
This one is basically a choose your own adventure for adults. It’s been years since I read it, but I remember enjoying it 🙂
Oooo me too!
Doesn’t even matter.
You’ll be able to decide if you browse titles
Andrew Vw well this was a horrible book* recommendation ?
@Leann have you read any choose your own adventure books?
@Andrew i have not, which is why I’m following this post! I didn’t even know they were a thing (I’ve seen some tv shows but never in books), which is why if there’s a popular one a lot of people recommend and really liked, I’d start with that one first!
@Leann
Seriously, you’ll get a pretty good idea of if you’ll be interested in a given CYOA from the title.
Some plot lines are better than others, and there are a lot of … well, choices.
Recommending any given CYOA is like reccomending any ten books, sone of which are straight trash, some of which are great.

@Andrew I’d just much rather go for one that’s well loved if I have the option. If I pick one and hate it then it’ll turn me off CYOA, but it could just be that I picked a super shitty one! If I pick one that most people love (and I’m pretty generic, I usually love what the majority loves) and I still hate it then at least I know CYOA just isn’t for me, rather than just picking a really shitty CYOA. Idk if that made sense, I exhausted ?
Goosebumps had those. I remember our teacher wouldn’t let them count toward our yearly book goal.
What Lies Beneath the Clock Tower by Margaret Killjoy!
If you like romance, My Lady’s choosing is good.
@Kaitlyn, whole-hearted co-sign! This one is a lot of fun.
Theres a version of Hamlet thats called To Be or Not to Be that’s fantastic!
**following bc interested too**
There’s this series called Fantastic Adventures where you have like 30 books like that! I did one with my boyfriend and it was super fun
Goosebumps has a few.
My colleague wrote a book called Choose your Own Disaster and it’s part-memoir, part-Choose your own adventure book. Supposed to be very funny
“You Are a Shark” is my favorite out of the original choose your own adventure books
There is a choose your own adventure take on Romeo and Juliet that is a great read!
