I would like to buy some books for my grand niece for her 2nd birthday and need some suggestions. What are some must have books for a 2 year old?

Where the Wild Thigs Are
Kittens first full moon, my friend rabbit, the paper bag princess…
One of my favorite memories is for Christmas/my birthday my grandma would take me to the book store and let me pick out some books. She would then wrap them and give them to me at the holiday. We would laugh over “remember to be surprised when you open them!” Maybe do something like that?

This ?? and the Gruffalos child
That new book about the donkey seems pretty popular
My kids loved Green Eggs and Ham!

all of these books were proven not only with my children but in daycare classrooms for children’s ages 12 months all the way to the preschool rooms. The 12 to 36 month groups love these books especially if you have to sing or chant them.
Little Blue Truck, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and anything by Eric Carle and Sandra Boyton
The Velveteen Rabbit is a lovely book, but maybe mummy would have to lay it aside for a couple of years. It’s a classic though. I used to read it to my son, and it always brought a tear to my eye…

This is my top favorite book. So easy to read out loud. the words roll off the tongue well.
“There are things about you, quite unlike any other. Things always known by your father or mother. So if you decide to be different one day… no worries, I’d know you anyways.
If one day we’re walking and talking, just us, when you’re abracadabra, a rhinoceros… I might be surprised, but just for a while… I’d know it was you by your magical smile.”
