The movie is a typical book to movie tragedy.

@Kelli I’m coming off of two very emotional books. Do you think this series is a good follow up?

Kelli

Amanda McDowell it’s a good series. I read the first three books in a week and I cried and cried when I finally finished the last. Specially when I was reading the second book and I played Bella’s lullaby in the background!! My heart!! You will fall in love. That series Changed my life. Helped me get through high school! I think it’ll be a good follow up. It has some parts that’ll make you tear up if you fall in love with the characters like I did. But all in all, it’s a pretty smazing series.

Hate them all. Read the whole series. Sorry, I just don’t like any book where the woman is a whimp, expects her “man” to defend her, dumps a guy because he was confused not wanting to get her involved and her turning around and running to a guy friend who loves her but she only considers him still a friend but pretends to love him just because her guy is gone. She’s high maintenance and needs to go.
There. You have MY opinion about the books.

@Tammy I used them as an example of what kind of man to AVOID. Told all 3 of my girls to not bring an Edward home. They have compiled ?

Jennifer

Meh. I finished them, they were ok. I will agree with everyone else that the books were better than the movies. They would’ve been great when I was a sophomore. Her book The Host was great.

@Jennifer oh yes I loved The Host. I wish she’d go back and write another in that series. Definitely better than Twilight.

I enjoyed the books (more than the movies, but I also enjoyed those in a guilty pleasure way). The author writes angsty teen love pretty well. Not the greatest writer overall, but you don’t read those for the great literature so they’re fine/good.

I understand the appeal of the books, if you like love triangles and all that. And if you’ve watched the movies and liked them, you’ll probably like the books better. Unless the writing turns you off (which was a point against the books for me). I personally didn’t like the books, but I read them for the vampire and werewolf lore, I found the author’s take on them interesting, but OMG! Stupid idiotic teenagers ? lol.

@Lysa truth – so unrealistic gender stereotyping – but definitely enjoyable

I liked both but hate Kristen Stewart as Bella. Her angst is so painful to watch! I bust up everytime the line “ you were gone” comes up! It’s like he doesn’t even know you yet, you’ve never even talked! Lol!

Joe Campbell its what she describes in the books. They used places in Oregon and an Oregon school for movie and computer generated the wooden hs sign from the actual school tho!!

I read all the books but honestly feel the movies were better. Edward is emotionally abusive sometimes in the books.
